I'm in my 3rd year of automotive repair school and have already spent a few thousand on basic tools. I can't imagine how much you have spent on all the advanced tools you have. The upfront cost is not as bad as people think. My scope, primary scan tool, immobilizer programmer, J2534 interfaces, and basically anything to do with programming/electrical issues totaled up are under 10k. About 6k is in hand tools, 5k in power tools, and another 5k-ish in specialty stuff. Altogether I think you can put together a really decent set of shop tools for about 30k not including lifts and compressors. What hurts me is all the subscriptions, insurance, and of course the rent+utilities especially when it's slow.

By using his brain, by being hungry to learn, by not watching Netflix and KZbin videos about other people’s lives making them rich. Everything I just listed is was most people today are unable to do and therefore are just bumps on a log, asking for government handouts and wasting everyone’s time and money. I get Mercedes vehicles delivered almost weekly from dealerships to my home to fix them because their mechanics barely know how to do an overpriced oil change correctly. I make good money on the side with my knowledge and they can barely hold on to their overpaid jobs.

Also, I heard that the new Mercedez is using new technology that requires a password from their HQ, this is required even for Mercedez techs, since this is an older car, I don't think this is the same but would like to know how true that is.

Great intel and behind the scenes regarding benz keys. Unsure why you clicked the hazards fyi that has zero affect on scanning our cars. Benz’s that is. Also this model is prone to bad steering lock modules (im absolutely sure youre aware of that) and theres a super fast way I test keys. Put keys from another car in here, the dash will say “wrong key inserted “ that automatically passes the eis and steering lock. Then take the “bad key “ and put into another benz and if the dash doesn’t respond its a bad key. Of course it helps to have available cars/keys 😊. I really enjoy your channel bro

Hi there, I just wanted to ask a question, when you said you did “all keys lost”, on most vehicles doesn’t it erase all the previous “working” keys ? So even if you were to find the “lost” key(s) they wouldn’t work, would they?. Unless when you clone a key straight from the EIS it copies the same exact file as the one in the original ( non working ) key and adds it as an extra key. Please explain how it works if you can. Thank you! 🙏

​Putting a battery in the fob will not help, Transponder is read via radio signal energizing ​device to read data even though it is infa red key. Battery operates transmitter portion to unlock and lock the car.@@fredsalter1915

@@fredsalter1915 new battery won't help in this situation. EIS can supply power to key even if the battery is depleted or missing. It powers the key when inserted immo side via induction power. If I am wrong someone could correct me. Hope this helps someone 😊

It’s the steering column lock. It’s a faulty sensor. I just had the exact same issue. Gently would jiggle the steering wheel and it would occasionally work. I did verify it with my scan tool. I thought it was the ignition. It’s a faulty that I pulled on my Autel IM608 PRO II and it pulled the code. It does not want you staring the vehicle if steering is locked. Took a while to figure this out. It would work and not work… so random. But 100% fixed the problem.

They make an EIS removal tool which looks like a giant socket with slots on it so you can pull out the ignition switch without disassembling a bunch of dash panels.

I'd like to know what happened to the old key. Since it's IR, it might have been enough dirt to prevent it from working and then with a lot of tries the rolling code prevented it from working once it was cleaned.

This process is very technical and requires expensive equipment. On a 2015 ML400, FOBS Signals intermittently respond. The door sensor as well. The hold down signal, to open or close all doors and windows simultaneously etc., does not work at all. I tried resetting to factory settings but problem continues. What is your advice on how to proceed. I’m trying to avoid the dealers expensive labor cist.

What’s the fix for P0340. It’s a Toyota and Idid the timing chain intake cam gear. Ohmed out the cam sensor to the ecu all that is done replaced the connector new oem cam position sensor. . Any pointers . There may be some RF interference. Lotsa people say alternator which tested out fine some people say starter. It’s usually pops at cold start and then throws p0016. It’s an electrical issue that’s causing interference with the cam sensor. Any pointers. I replaced the OcV as well for the intake.

It never surprises...businesses that just won't consider the value of a good internet service/connection speed. Either that or they do not set up a decent WiFi set up for their shop. Its not all that expensive nor complicated to have a couple or three WiFi extenders or hot spots wired into their main ISP router to service the garage bays and surrounding parking spaces.

You test the old key after you did the all keys lost procedure, so you deleted the old key, of court it's not going to work. Should have done the test procedure before you programmed the new key

Wait a minute every modern car key is power by a internal Battery. If the key Battery is dead the car will not read and it wont start the ignition process. You never open the battery power KEY to check if it has a Battery at all. HONDA KEYS give the driver a warning that powered battery is WEAK and should replace it immediately or else the car wont start !!! Something does not seem right in your analysis of the situation.

GREAT VIDEO! I HAVE A '98 SLK 230 THAT HAS A SIMILAR CONDITION AND OFTEN WONDERED IF IT WAS THA KEY. IT IS THE SMALL RECTANGULAR FOB WITH THE FOLDING METAL KEY-BAR. I GET MY RED LIGHT WHEN I DEPRESS THE SMALL BUTTON BUT NO DOOR LOCKS AND ABSOLUTELY NO LIGHTS ON THA DASH AND NO CRANK AND NO START....NADA.
