2009 Shelby GT500 (My Dream Car)

I have exact same car here but in a convertible. It was my dream car as well. Bought it brand new in 2009 in my mid 20’s. First dealership said you can’t afford / test drive this car. So I found another dealer / car and bought theirs. Still have it today after previously owning Shelby GT350 and Dodge Viper. Can’t part with it. My first love.

I still love my 07 GT500 Shelby conv. after owning it for 12yrs! fast car for its time and still hangs with most cars no problem! Plus the looks and sounds are the best, especially with flow master outlaws on the back! Remains almost stock.Bought with 16 miles on it , now has 6,800 miles.Mine does 0-60 4,4 sec stock.SVT are shift lights on the dash and can be set for different shift points.Also thats a factory nav deck from ford.

MY 08 GT500 HAS OVER 750HP AT THE TIRE SO AT THE CRANK IT'S WELL OVER 850HP AND HONESTLY THAT'S AS FAR AS I WANT TO PUSH IT AND MY TUNER SAID IT CAN HANDLE 850HP AT THE TIRE WITH THE PROPPER TUNE BUT 800HP AT THE TIRE IS FAR AS IAM WILLING TO PUSH THE STOCK 5.4.

I have a 2007 GT500. I just spent over $2k on the Stage 3 update. Cold air intake, Pulley, Idler & tune...which adds approx. 50-60hp. Yours already has the stage 3. I can tell by the sound of the supercharger!

I bought my 2014 White with Navy stripes GT500 a year ago. The car is a dream to drive and with currently only 6800 miles on it and like yours it's flawless. My car will be in the July anniversary edition of Stang Magazine. Your car looks awesome!!!

Good review! I love your enthusiasm! Looks like it has a Steeda powerpack which includes the cold air intake, smaller pulley and tune. It takes literally 30 minutes to change the pulley and intake to gain over 100 wheel horsepower. Amazing machines!

You should try it with a vmp gen3r at 19 psi w long tubes full exhaust 410 and drag pack then see how exhilirating it can be lol. My 07 put down 740/733 to the tire on fat power sucking drag radials. Its a monster.

It whines alot stock but open it up w a freee flowing intake and smaller pulley tune it really screams. My 07 w 410 gears and simple bolt ons destroyed a bolt on 93 tune 10 speed 5.0 multiple times. These cars are faster than people realise tons of potential.

We did not own it it was a car dealerships this is what we gave us to work with so we made it work!

The gauges are also totally different they have a more modern layout w the numbers and the tach and speedo are on opposite sides from the normal mustang of the day. The regular mustang could get the mycolor gauge color changing thing but only gt500s got the red white and blue option that was a gt500 specific thing. Lots of little things most miss.

I agree but they changed it up alot more than you think when you compare them side by side lots of little touches that make it feel more special. They should have had a better seat option I'll give you that I threw in some gts2 corbeau seats into mine full leather they like they could have (and should have) came oem. It's so easy to make big power and tq you can do 600/600+ to the tire with stock blower and 700-800+ w a blower swap.

Umm.. 5th Generation Mustangs didn’t end til 2014. A lot of people get confused with this. The Wiki even says that 5th Gen was from 2005-2014. Drives me nuts

The enrire front end is different. It looks like 13-14 front end shape meets 05-09 body. The 13s actually copied the gt500 look that went all the way back to 2007. Even the headlight housing is shelby specific they are shaped differently because of the front end difference.
