This reminds me of the summer of 2018. My brother had recently been diagnosed with ALS. He needed help getting around, so I drove him around in his 2009 Silverado 2500 HD all summer. All the sounds and looks of this truck have caused so many memories, good and bad, to flood back. He has since passed, but the memories of him live on.

I'll wager that that mint Chevy towed a camper to Florida every Winter. Like my cousin's truck, it travels to Florida and then he uses a car he keeps at his camp site. Great Purchase!

I suppose that's possible. It had about 6000 miles a year put on it. That few of miles could have been done locally pulling a camper in the summer.

Really nice truck! Those GMT900 trucks are pretty solid for the most part, you are right about the thin sheet metal. I had an 08' 1500 that I got stuck in some mud, had a buddy push on the side of the bed and caved it in with his bare hands haha. I'm looking forward to the mods and watching you make this truck your own.

Yeah, the bodies have some ripples because of the thinner metal. I can let that gripe go I guess for the condition this truck is in. The weird thing is I have no repairs to do. I can go right into the fun stuff and customize it. Which is awesome!

Thats a beautiful truck. I too have a 2009 extended cab Z71 mine only has 60K miles and its a 1500. It reflects it just like this one. Fortunately mine never leaves the garage in the winter. So the rust isn’t an issue.

I am going to drive mine all year long. It's been a long time since I have had a truck like this so I am going to enjoy it. It will get Fluid Film in every body panel I can get to.

we picked up an 2007 new style LT CC, in what you call mint, rust sprayed and driven to florida during the winters. here in canada all these 07-14 trucks are rust my das is just as nice owned my an old guy with 230000km

I would say most 07-13 trucks around here are rusted out somewhere. Rocker panels or bedsides.

I couldn't be more happy with the price and the truck. Most of the time you are only happy with one or the other. I am going to really enjoy this truck. I haven't had this nice of a truck in a long time.

Winters are to long to park a truck. I know a lot of people have winter wheels and then a better set of summer wheels. I have always run my good wheels all year. When I buy something I want to use it not save it for someone else. I do park my 91 dually but I consider it a toy not my main truck. A part of me does feel guilty putting a plow on this truck but like I said I paid for it so I want to use and enjoy it.

I hope so. I plowed snow for 3 seasons with my 08 when it was brand new. It still looked and drove great. I have a gallon of Fluid Film ordered.

A part of me does feel bad for plowing with this truck but I paid for it with hard earned money so I want to enjoy and use the truck. I can plow with a truck and not destroy it. I will be using Fluid Film to keep the salt from destroying the body.

Ive got a 01 2500hd 8.1 Allison in the same shape. Id love to find a 09 like you've got. I really like those years of trucks. Man tho I don't think I could make it a plow truck tho. Lol. Love it!!!

I hate running it in the salt myself but it wasn't made to sit and look good. I have been slowly coating the body with Fluid Film.

@@mossman381 Well I'm new to the duramax so I really can't compare the two. My 2009 Chevy 2500HD did a great job plowing and I was well satisfied. I would still be driving it if it was not for the fire. The only problem I had was rust in the rear fender wells but I bought it used and had a lot of mud and buildup from the previous owner. Fluid Film is definitely your friend!

@@547Rick I know it will plow and tow smaller loads with no issue. The torque of the duramax is so nice to have. Right now I am really happy with this truck. I still can't believe how good condition it is in.

Delete (AFM) = Active Fuel Mgt.... It ruined my motor 6 0L GMC 08... One of the worst ideas GM did. Nice Truck...👍
