2009 Toyota Yaris headlight bulb replacement without the need for light or bumper cover removal.

This a quick video on how I was able to replace the headlight bulbs on a 2009 Toyota Yaris without having to remove the bumper cover or headlight lenses from the vehicle.

Guy and his daughter removed the entire front bumper to replace the bulbs. He deleted my comment about what a time waste that was. You own the car. You make any necessary adaptations to make it easier next time. Bravo!

Hello, Thank you for commenting and encouragement. The space to remove the bulb on the driver's side is limited but as you pointed out by just removing a couple of things out of the way it can be done without the need for removing the bumper cover. Best of luck with your repairs.

You jumped past the part on the drivers side getting that last nut out. I have the same setup as you and can't fit the socket over the nut.

If you aren't able to get at them the way I did, you could remove the bumper cover and detach the headlight assemblies. It's not that difficult to do but is more time consuming. I wonder how you can fit that camera in that tiny little space behind the headlights, but anyway, great video. I got lazy and replaced mine without taking any of the 10mm nut off, managed to wiggle my hand in between the space (despite having to scratch it) It's possible but it's not any easier

Yaris are grat little cars, but the way it is designed, the removal of the light bulbs and replacing the front struts is a major pain.

So one has to buy a flexible screwdriver if you want to replace the headlights bulb without partially removing the bumper. 🤔

The bumper removal video is not fair representation. I can do mine using that method in minutes. This looks fiddly but whichever anyone wants to do find easier. One thing I’ve seen on the forum is the headlight lugs go brittle and break so the bumper trick may be flawed

Great point, my Yaris is 15 years old and currently has 401,224 miles on it.
