You haven't seen enough Vilma; he got alot more then one 4th down tackle. He got quite a few INTs and Critical run stuffs in a long and successful career. Nice play though; veteran savvy

Sean Payton used the kitchen sink of personnel and formation; and it led to a LOT of imitation. 3TEs 1st down to pass, 3WR 2nd down to run, use a FB, switchout one of 3 RBs equally; just bewilder. By 2012 that became basic. Go back to seasons and a game like 98 Vikings Falcons and recognize teams in 3rd and 8 might STILL just put 1FB 1TE 2WRs and just have the FB and TE running routes. ALSO: The most effective use Payton realized was putting alot of blockers to pass; put a lot of WRs to run; just force run stuffers to cover and pass cover specialists to take on blocks and defend the run.

When the Saints blew out the Patriots I jumped firmly on their undefeated bandwagon. I HAD that game; I recorded it and put it on a DVD; this was my stupid era before I just put a PC onto the TV to watch recorded football and everything else downloadable in HD. But there's hundreds and hundreds of DVDs to search through; movies, shows, CFB and NFL games, NFL films; by the time I find it; the season will have started.

People bring up Jonathan Vilma and the defense in this game, but besides that interception, the defense for most of the game fell flat against a back up QB. Drew Brees' 3 touchdown passes won this game
