200k mile Supercharged FRS gets tuned

It is never as easy or glamorous as it seams. We got the car back together and drove it 4 hours to get dyno tuned. This was the 3rd time since the previous 2 tunes left a lot to be desired and had some issues. Things had to be rushed which left us stranded on the side of the road multiple times. This story does have a happy ending. But that’ll be saved for the next video 😉

Pretty disappointed at the shop who was supposed to tune it! I would really recommend a remote tune from CSG if you have the time, the car would run perfectly once Zach is done with it. Or if you're in Cali anyway, visit CSG! Hope it goes better for you guys, both cars are looking awesome to start the season :)

The shop did come through with it in the end. Car feels really good now! In the future we will consider a remote tune again we just really wanted to have the full experience of it on a Dyno and what not. We live and learn right? Lol. But overall the shop did do right by us so I can’t complain much. Hope your car is doing well! Stoked for the season this year!

Has the engine been reliable w 200k miles? I plan on keeping my car forever

I have had 0 issues so far other than the throw out bearing at 100k. Car has been amazing for me so far. Just keep up on the general maintenance. We’ve recently had some hiccups with the check engine light but I’m thinking it’s mainly due to the heat and what not. Car is still driving great!

Not sure how deep you are with the dyno-tuner, but I highly recommend Zach over at Counter Space Garage if you aren't fully committed just yet. Just got done remote tuning a FBM turbo kit I installed myself, even the very first base tune he sent over was extremely liveable/driveable, check them out if you haven't heard of them for sure, hope you figure it out! 🙏

Thank you for that! And yeah we have heard of them. Always good vibes. We were just trying to look for local and being able to run it on an actual Dyno but I will most def consider this for future!

Damn, wow what a bummer. Why would they toss in e85 and not finish the process with the tuning? That's a slap in the face fr. You don't start something and not finish it. Customer satisfaction > anything else. Also, I would have left the car with them, save yourself the trouble. Did they give you any reason why the ffk would fail to read the e85? Let's hope in the next video you get things squared up. I wanna see some numbers! For me, right now Im on the fence on getting a flex fuel tune for my jrsc using oft. I been talking to Steve Wiseman (my tuner) and he says he can tune it as long as I have a ffk, and 3bar map sensor. It'll be limited to 10psi but for the stock pulley, that's pretty much capped out anyway. Switching to ecutek will cost me much more but might be the better option later down the road.

It boiled down to they ran out of time which I understand shit happens. I was a little frustrated but when it came down to it they came through for us in the end and the car feels great! They actually asked for me to leave the car but with us living 4 hours away and needing an answer right that second I panicked and asked if I could bring it back. Well that backfired lol. If I was you I would pull the trigger and go Ecutek. Totally worth it. I ran Oft first and super happy with the switch to Ecutek.
