I've got a 2021 TRD Off Road Premium on order, black metallic. I ordered it in mid-May, the dealer called called me yesterday and said they expect it delivered within 10 days. I'm so stoked. This will by my first Toyota ever, but I wanted to get the best. 4Runners are still built in Japan, so it's made right.

2018 TRD off road. Been on sand, stone, mud, snow, climbing Hells revenge,crawling cave land in Kentucky, and cutting through Colorado on dirt and gravel roads, never had a problem or scare. Totally stock never needed more wherever I've been including tires. Of course I drive carefully and highly respect and treat it like an expensive precision tool. It has taken me and my family over, around and down things that has had me sweating bullets heart pumping and my family asking if we were going to die🤣. Better than and roller-coaster money can buy and it always brought us home smoothly and safely Love this vehicle. Highly recommended. Edit the back window is my dog's favorite place to be on nice days.

@@bwma I'm getting a 22 model later this month. I plan on mostly driving to work and taking road trips with it. probably some light off-road. Not big on lifts and accessories if I'm not going to use them. Im buying this because I expect, with good maintenance it should last me several years. But yeah I hear you alot of people buy these things and "mod" them straight to hell but never actually off-road with them which seem like a waste to me.

@@Doomzdayxx can't go wrong with the 4runner! Have 45,000 miles now and added a few new badges to it's list of off road accomplishments. Only thing I've done so far was a TRD front skid plate and a set of BFG all terrain tires. Change oil religiosity and grease the drive shafts front and back. Clean the interior and wax the paint. Awesome SUV. Nothing in the same size and class can come close to checking off all the boxes like the 4runner does. Can't go wrong. You will love it. It will last way more than just a few years. Mine still has some new car smell and it's on it's 4th going on 5 years old. Resale value is unmatched but I really can't see myself ever selling it. My little ones will be driving in 5 years. Probably will be their first vehicle.

2015 4runner LTD, just getting to 150k miles. Transmission developed a shudder around 130k but a flush and addition of Shudder Stop has done the trick so far. Another issue is that Im on my 3rd driver doorlock actuator and my second passenger actuator, and neither currently work. Had to also replace the AC fan and the parking sonar hasn't worked for a while.

The SR5s definitely ride like a 1980s Caddy, more like a couch than older 4Runners. We opted for the Off Road Premium with KDSS, which helps a lot in body lean on turns, but it still wallows a bit at times. Ltd and Sport get XRAES for a tighter on-road ride, and Pro's suspension helps on-road as well as off.

Good video. I bought the venture edition. It has the style to proudly pull up at the nicest restaurants. It takes my family through the woods right down to the spots not everyone can access. I can fit a blow up mattress in the back and sleep not touching the hatch. It is nice not to worry so much on and off road.

The Limited is the most off-road capable. It has a real center differential which locks for full-time 4WD. This makes it more like the Lexus GX460/Landcruiser Prado and Landcruiser. TRD Pro doesn't have a center differential. Part-time 4wd only... KDSS system cannot be understated... it's epic
@RobS1232 жыл бұрын
I would think the all-time 4x4 on the Ltd is great for driving in the snow, but how is it better in real off road situations, with 20" rims? KDSS is also better than the Limited's XRAES system because it "disconnects" below 12mph for better articulation on uneven terrain. Also, the Off Road and Pro come with a locking rear diff, and Crawl Control/Multi Terrain Select, which takes the guess work out of off roading for less experienced folks.
