Pretty cool... first video I have seen of 2 pressure transducers in action.

Very cool diagnosis I'm working on getting one pressure sensor I can see why two would be really awesome for this sort of diagnosis though. Doubtful your customers adequately appreciate the knowledge you're bringing to a diagnostic problem but it's very cool to see what's possible.

Wilkerson Auto I am always looking for new ways to approach problems. Using two transducers in this case makes diagnoses lot faster.. 👍👍

Hey Ramon interesting approach. While watching i was thinking you can overlay these by making one of them a reference waveform and then offsetting the time to match peaks. Might be convenient. Anyway thank you for sharing sir
@kyhomegarage34305 жыл бұрын
Super Mario Diagnostics Yes you can make one as reference waveform and I used that before but I never learned how to offset time to match my waveforms. With pico you never stop learning. Cheers my friend 👍👍

Ramon even with the same capture which you probably have compare and came with the conclusion! You can see if the intake time is off as well. And just by I can see on the video it seems like the exhaust cam is the only one off. So maybe a bad or stuck cam phaser?
@kyhomegarage34305 жыл бұрын
Maic Salazar Diagnostics Hi my friend. Intake cam is OK I did check. I think its stretch chain because exhaust cam is retarded 24 deg. If phaser is stuck open timing would be advanced on bank one. VVT phaser should keep valves open longer and timing should be advanced. What do you think?
@MaicSalazarDiagnostics5 жыл бұрын
@@kyhomegarage3430 I honestly would swap the solenoids first, I have seen this problem with a bad solenoid. The criteria of this code is: Bank 1 exhaust camshaft is greater than 10° retarded or 13° advanced in relationship to the crankshaft. So in you case is advanced. The ECM is continuously comparing CMP sensor inputs with CKP sensor input in order to monitor camshaft position and detect any system malfunctions. If a condition exists in either the intake or exhaust camshaft actuator system, the opposite bank, intake or exhaust, camshaft actuator will default to 0 crankshaft degrees.
@MaicSalazarDiagnostics5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ramon. Question. Why do you think is the chain? Would no be possible that the cam phaser is of advanced? Did you check or compare the cam sensor signals for timing? I know that for this you’ll need a known good form. But still don’t see how can you call a timing chain with just this info. I am curious .
@jdean3995 жыл бұрын
Brilliant video, what do you think if you did a relative compression and a sync with a coil off the offending bank, would this show you that timing was off as well? Also if you don't mind have you had much success in getting clear defined running compression pictures from your snap on scope?
@kyhomegarage34305 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Dean Good point. I don’t now I wish I did compression test but it’s too late now. Snap on scope is good and you can get good running waveform but pico is easier to use because of extra cursors. You can use non automotive pico for this test. They are much cheaper. 2000 series pico works good.👍
@bodgitandleggitgarage5 жыл бұрын
Nice job mate I just don't know if I trust 100% the pico when it puts the four curses in it's just if one is low on compression the engine might be turning faster or slower into each cylinder something I need to play around with a lot more
@MaicSalazarDiagnostics5 жыл бұрын
bodgit and leggit garage well if one cylinder would be slower you will see it on this set up with two in cylinder transducers.
@bodgitandleggitgarage5 жыл бұрын
@@MaicSalazarDiagnostics not necessarily it can change its speed depending on the state and condition of the engine I've seen evidence of this we're sometimes some of the curses can be off up to 10 degrees and more in some cases
@kyhomegarage34305 жыл бұрын
bodgit and leggit garage That is possible but using two transducers RPM is the same on both cylinders When I locked my cursors on bank two and moved them to bank one they were dead on with peak compressions.
@bodgitandleggitgarage5 жыл бұрын
@@kyhomegarage3430 definitely looks like the way to go is using two at once but can't do that and a four cylinder engine well I suppose it's possible but certainly a lot easier on a v engine
@kyhomegarage34305 жыл бұрын

Craziest unexplainable thing happened to me. Last week come out the store starter wouldn't work. Change the starter now my car skip time the whole bank too don't work anymore. Never heard of someone skipping timing from changing his starter
@tgoodm15 жыл бұрын
So the exhaust cam is too far advanced on Bank 2?
@kyhomegarage34305 жыл бұрын
tgoodm1 Exhaust cam is retarded on bank one. Exhaust valve on bank two opens at 44 deg before BDC and on bank one is at 22 deg.👍

Thanks for another great video. Could you not just check both intake cmp to crank then exhausts to crank and see the difference in degrees. Both banks cams should open and close in unison
