It appears the general consensus is to do a series on the 1198 lol. Alright then!

Hey @Practical Enthusiast! I recently bought a Multistrada 1200 S myself, and I cannot say enough how awesome your videos are! Super descriptive and brutally honest! After never owning a bike quite like this you have certainly helped me build some confidence in tackling some of my bike's issues myself. Thanks for all of the tips and tricks! I can't wait to ride this beast!
@PracticalEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I'm happy to hear these vids will help you with your new Multi. It's very rewarding to maintain one of these machines yourself.
@Imotopilot4 жыл бұрын
Yup on doing a series on the 1198 and take the Multi to the track too! To avoid shearing your shift/rear brake levers and grinding down your side/center stand - raise the levers as high as you can and give the bike as much height (in the rider menu: add passenger and luggage option). Super fun bike on the track!

Yes. Absolutely. Your videos are super informative and more importantly confidence inspiring. I have a 2nd hand 796 Monster approaching the dreaded valve clearance check and I'm 75% there on doing it myself after watching the series. To see another take on the desmo, with likely new issues/situations, and your approach to solving them would be awesome.

Im joining to the list of people that owe you a big Thanks for this complete Guide on video showing the whole process of servicing your bike.. Mine reached it first desmo service interval back in October and started working in it this month. I was encouraged by your videos, got the parts, gaskets, orings and Im so glad I did it following your videos because I encounter a lot of issues in my process, like Oil in my vertical spark plug coming from the coil gasket.. etc etc. This playlist combined with Madcogz service manual is all we need for our multiproblems. Thanks a lot dude.

I purchased my red 2010 MTS 1200 new and fortunately have not had any problems with it other than a few factory recalls. Only adds have been a GPS mount and Denali driving lights. Great bike!

I have a very special appreciation for at least one specific aspect of this video. I have been wondering for some time about certain noises from my multistrada engine, and I am glad to hear that your engine has exactly the same noises. By the way I have had one of these for just over 2 years now. Been driving bikes for 45 years, and have never enjoyed a bike even nearly this much. Windscreen : consider adding a deflector screen. MRA X-creen is great, I've installed it. solves the problem completely. The tuneboy works great. I have it, can't live without it. Gears : can consider changing to motul 7100 instead of 300. It makes quite a difference. I've done this.

Wonderful work as the rest of your video materials! If I may suggest LED bulbs, I went with cyclops led ( USA made from Washington state I believe)for both low and high beams. After having PIAA ( Japan made), there was no comparison, the Cyclops are quality bulbs with certificates. They are so bright!!! Thanks for all your work!!

I keep the key in the compartment on the fairing under the throttle. Even then, it is sometimes out of range. Also, the keyless sensor is behind the cluster and sometimes requires being really close (touching) before acknowledging it's around. And it always talks if it is close. So if you keep the key with the bike for a few days both the fob and the bike batteries drain. But, I love the bike. Keep a pack of CR2032 batteries under the passenger seat. I just hit 30000 miles and still owe 3k on her. Thanks for the video series on this I'm about to do it all!
@demo43424 жыл бұрын
There is a PIN you can enter if you lose the key. Dealer can reset it so you can then set a new one. I had it done when I had the oil change light cleared (has to be done by them) and the heated grips activated that I found of a totaled 1200S for $40.
@PracticalEnthusiast4 жыл бұрын
I didn't realize the key and the bike would drain themselves if left in proximity. Hmmm...guess I will rethink key storage then. I found a way to reset the pin on my bike, but I will definitely only use that as a last resort!

The shifting issue is your clutch needing to be bled. It seems to require it every 20 hours on mine. Also - some remove the slave cylinder and lubricate the clutch actuation rod. Its worth a shot anyway.
@PracticalEnthusiast4 жыл бұрын
I bled the master and slave cylinders pretty well, but I suppose some air could still be trapped.
@TheCvac Жыл бұрын
@@PracticalEnthusiastIf your clutch fluid got darker quite fast after bleeding it,you need to replace your clutch slave cylinder. I have the same problem,I am waiting for the Oberon clutch slave in the mail now,on the forums this is like the holy grail of clutch slaves for ducati. I know you sold the bike,but it could be useful for someone reading this.
