Just replaced my seat heater (and installed new seat foam while in there, what a difference in comfort!!). As a suggestion, I used 3 long plastic zip ties/ tie wraps to secure the seat cover in place where the hog rings go. Snipped off the excess, THEN installed the hog rings beside the zip ties. Way easier to do, with the ties holding everything in place for you. Thanks for your video, was a great help. Entire job took about 90 minutes!

Nice Job! I watched this three times and tackled the seat heaters on my new to me 2011 FX4 this past weekend. They were a little different but close enough. Obviously they had failed for the previous owner, the dealer I bought the truck from said the heaters were not covered under warranty, your video gave me the confidence to tackle the job myself. Bought the parts for $50 from a Ford dealer on eBay, took about 3 hours over the weekend to do the project.Thanks for taking the time to post the video.

Did your dash button lights turn on at all before the seat heater replacement? Driver's side on my 2011 FX4 (used) doesn't even light up and the seat doesn't heat. Passenger side all good. Fuse replaced, etc.

Thanks for the tips, they were spot on. Completed in a little over an hour on my 2010 Lariat. Everywhere else had me taking the seat out of the truck, By working from the one side as you suggested it was quick and fairly easy. Thanks again!

Removal and access to the heater is more important and you skipped right past.

Just replaced the heating element in my 2011 FX4, thanks for this video! My bum won't freeze during the cold morning anymore. I recommend taking out the cushion entirely. I used a razor blade to cut the adhesive off without damage to the cushion.

Another recall that Ford should have made

You can do this without removing the back j rail, seat belt cover or right side j rail. Peel the front of the seat up instead of the back.

the seat heater in my 2009 f-150 just went out about 2 weeks ago. the local Ford dealer wants $ 300.00 to fix this. i told them i don,t think so. they said the part was only $30.00, the labor however was where things got to much. i just might see if i can fix it myself.

I want to do this because my 2011 raptor passenger seat heater does not work but I have one question. My seat heater light still turns on and stays on but no heat, do you think I have the same problem as this video or do I have like a blown fuse somehow?

Did you ever find the answer to your problem man? I have a 2011 and my button stays on but no heat coming from the seat. Not sure if its the element or a fuse
@tp8382 Жыл бұрын
@@brayanperez-gg4vs No and to make matters worse my Drivers seat just went out as well, i haven't really worried about it though as I live in So cal and rarely us it. I'm guessing my problem is the heater element just like this video shows.

So my truck does has the same issue will it fix it if it has heating and cooling
@jpfunwithwheels6 жыл бұрын
I've never disassembled heated & cooled seats, but I'd venture a guess that the cooling is done with vents and the heating is done with a similar heating element. You certainly could pull the cover off and check the heating element for any shorts or burnt spots and you'd know pretty quickly. Good Luck!
