Great, way better than most of videos similar to it. I used a 1/2" ratchet since it had a much much longer handle, and an adapter to attach the 7mm bit, which is a 1/4" socket, to it, which made reaching up to get that top screw on the motor *much* easier. Anyone seeing this: note that the motor you buy might not come with the big plastic actuator, that's ok!! The old one can easily transfer to the new motor. There's 3 screws that remove the metal mount, and there's a little tab on the actuator you can press with a screwdriver and the actuator will pull right off the axle, then pull the metal mount off, install on new motor (make sure you keep the same orientation!) And install actuator on new motor.

I used this guide to replace this actuator with OEM Honda one for about $70 in my 2010 Civic. Figured it lasted almost 14+ years it's worth the investment for OEM Honda Part. The top screw of the actuator and the bottom screw of the vent pipe was the most difficult, but overall if you take your time it's easy to do. Also with the old part out, I plugged in the new part and match the orientation of the old one before putting back in with fresh lithium grease. Good Video!

Good work, very helpful! I might add that a lot of replacements these days wont come with that white ear shaped bracket(except for maybe the factory part) so make sure you save that and the metal mounting bracket. Also a flex extension and low profile hand ratchet may make this job easier. Also follow what he says and plug in the unit and turn the key on and select a couple modes before installing(front facing vents only Mode seems to be the default when the motor is shipped) the motor will synch up and make it easier to line up the tracks and mount the assembly.
@ViewtifulVash2 жыл бұрын

Is there a fuse that could cause the problem or the turn knob may not be good on a 2003 Honda crv. Or it's just best to test that motor and change it. Thank you.
@MarcusFerguson16 Жыл бұрын
So I'm actually having problems right now with my temperature control. When I turn it cold it will sometimes become hot and vice versa. So in that case I think it is a problem with the heater assembly control. However, if you're only having problems with the A/C vent modes, I would start with changing the heater air blend mode actuator. I hope that helps.

How you line up the tracks is wrong at least for Civic 2009. The actuator should be set to FRONT (which is the default position when you get it from the seller). The top notch goes into the LONGER track and the bottom goes into the SHORTER track. I followed what you said and could not figure out how you were able to put the top one in the shorter track and the bottom one into the longer track even when the position is at defrost.
