Russia is an "old car" guys dream. They could just make replicas of all kinds of old cars there. No crumple zones, no roll over strengthening, no air bags. Nothing! Its like a new car (just made), but its from the 60s!

I enjoyed watching this video, the Lada 2105 was my first car, to this day it is my favourite car of all time, I had so much fun driving my Lada in the UK !.

Yeah, a 05 was my first car too, with a 1.5L engine (same as in 07), it even had headlight washers, LOL. It was my daily driver for 5 years, during this time I have experienced all the highs and lows a Lada driver can. :D

This is the car in which I actually learned how to drive (I was 8) 😁. My father bought it brand new in 1984 and when I got my licence it was already 12 years old. After 4 years in a garage, during the war in Bosnia, the engine has started out of the first try! I really loved that car. So much memories! It was white, same like this one but with a 1.3l engine and 4 speed gear. That was the time when we actually drove the car, 'cause everything was mechanical and there was something magical about it 😊!

There were some models of Riva that had wankel engines. Mainly just the 21079, a police model. Massive engines for such a tiny car.

Why the hand-crank window was completed backwards? when the crank turns to right, It goes up. Even when it's cranked to left, It goes down

Yes, they were offered with fuel injection since the early 2000s.

@@Noizy01 Since 2008 they were only available with 1.6 L 8V 70hp Bosch fuel injection engine claiming it could pass EURO-3 emissions equipped with a 5-speed manual and the available options were the same since it was released in the 80s, so no power steering and A/C. Standard options were: Retractable seat belts, hydraulic headlight range control, interior lamps, plastic bumpers with chrome trim, 13" steel rims, metallic finish and a full size spare tire. Since the mid 2000s the plastic bumpers (which used to be aluminium before they were replaced) and headrests from VAZ-2107 were added.

The VAZ 2105 is like South Africa's VW Citi Golf. Has everything you need to get around and nothing more. Safety of course is the only real drawback if you're on a tight budget.

In Russia these cars and other outdated-but-still-built cars had/have a legit place on the market. You can't compare these to other models from similar model years. These are just cheap get around cars. Russia is an Eastern European country, which means a lot of people can't afford to buy and run a new car with expensive engine technology, infotainment system, etc., yet Russia is a huge country with big distances, bad roads and sometimes lousy public transportation, so having a car is essential for some people. These people are the target audience for cars like this, not Swiss bankers.

I drove mine for a very long time and never had any accidents except, when I was a kid, I turned the ignition key on without pressing the clutch in a garage so I hit the wall 😁. But at the end it was the wall that it was damaged not the Lada 😁.
