My nephew’s 2013 F150 stopped in the middle of the street. Electronics went out lights flickering, wouldn’t start. Took off clip for transmission and put in neutral to tow home. Waited until today and checked voltage on battery and the fuses. All was good. Watched this video and found the loose connection behind the passenger kick plate. Then started right up. That fuse for the fuel pump can also cause the truck to run bad and die at a stop. I had that issue and replaced yesterday, problem solved.

My issue is intermittent and I think it's the neutral safety switch. I already had that fuel pump fuse burn out. I I Fixed it with the help of a youtube video 😃. KZbin has saved me more than once.

Well on top of that there's a lot of grounds on these trucks that rot out or get a lot of rust build-up because Ford doesn't poor job of actually grounding circuits out to the vehicle so if you actually go around on the frame and find them all clean them and reconnect them you'll find a lot of issues go away whenever things are very prevalent

Push in on the key firmly, try again. If that doesn't work check the fuel-pump 20v fuse under the hood to make sure it's not blown.

I was stuck on the highway for an hour thank God the state trooper pulled up behind me to keep me and my girlfriend safe we tried to figure it out but nothing so the trooper had a tow truck come get us $400 later in my driveway I came across your video went out side and the same plug came apart so I replayed in my mind what happened I slammed on my brakes to not hit a deer my girlfriend foot slid under that panel and just hit it enough where the truck was basically disabled but long story short thank you I could only imagine what the dealership would have done to me

My f150 was doing the same thing as the dash lights. However mine would start and then die every once in awhile. Long story short I checked that connection on passenger side and it was loose. Saw the dash lights and hit the key. Boom. Fired off. Thanks for the info!

Great Video, short and to the point. My 2012 had the fuse issue. Interestingly, it simultaneously had an issue with the key switch sticking in the start position. The engine would not start, just continue cranking when I let go of the key. Had to grab the key and turn it back to off.Have you heard of this? Is the issue in the tumbler or the ignition switch? Thx!! I have a 2014 f150 5.0. Jumped in and turned the key and it cranks over great but won’t start. Saw another video stating that number 27 fuze will cause just that. I pulled it and it’s ok. We figured out that I have an issue with the fuel modulator that’s under the spare tire. If your truck sees a lot of salt it can play havoc with that. $45 from Ford and I’m back in business!! Thanks again for your tips… I’m ready for these issues now. Does Ford move the fuze under a recall??

Check all your connections like I showed you here in the video but I think your issue is your immobilizer for your security system no longer sees your identifiers in the key and more than likely you're going to have to have your keys reprogrammed or you're going to need two new keys programmed

I knew i change hubs so that was good ended up being the vac sylinode for 4x4. After fixing that and test all good drive for few days went to put cover on fuse panel while truck was runing and it died never to start again.

So that click now that I went back and watch the video is because there's a bad actuator in the dash and it has to be changed and it's trying to hunt and find its position so you have to figure out which actuator it is and then replace that actuator

Not sure if this will help anyone, but I watched a bunch of videos today trying to diagnose my 2015 F-150, push button start. TL:DR This fix was replacing the battery. Here is what happened: I tried remote starting my truck this morning before work. I heard it try to crank, but it didn’t start. I was having issues with in my remote not locking/unlocking the truck unless I was standing right next to it; so, figured the batteries were getting low in the key fob and I would start the truck when I got inside. I was able to unlock the doors but when I tried to start the engine, I got an error that said key was not detected. Located the intelligent key backup slot and tried starting my truck again… no luck. I replaced the batteries in the key fob and tried again, but this time there was a single-clicking noise, and the engine still would not crank. My next thought was the truck battery is going bad. I took it to O’Reilly’s and had them test it. They said it was good, so the investigation continued. Started watching a bunch of YT videos and reading blogs to find a solution. You would not believe some of the things I tried: • Ensuring the steering wheel lock was not the cause. (I was hoping it was something this easy, lol) • Changing relays and fuses. (Starter and fuel pump seemed to be mentioned the most) • Making a jumper cable to bypass the starter relay to test the starter. • Watched a video on how to test the solenoid with a screwdriver. (Engine compartment was not the same and I was unable to locate the solenoid… probably a good thing) I was at a loss and about to call a tow truck when I noticed the RPM and MPH gauges were bouncy a little when I attempted to start the engine. Found this blog post and the overwhelming response was suggesting the battery as the cause. www.ford-trucks.com/forums/977616-wont-start-just-clicks-and-gauges-go-crazy.html Figured it was either, try replacing the battery or getting a mechanic to look at it. Bought and installed the new battery; and the truck started up with no issues. It would appear a battery can test good from a voltage standpoint, but still be bad. Here is another recommendation: Have someone test your battery and if they tell you the voltage is good, ask them to do a load test. If your battery drops below 8 volts during a load test, then your battery is bad. Good luck!

Great Video … 2012 F150 3.5 turbo my case Everything lights up was dragging like a battery going down; initially replaced battery then everything still lights up but nothing. No start .. hear a faint click. Key fob is messed up will not remotely start, button to unlock wore off actually rubber came off. Was unlocking with door code. 3 three months? Now truck will not start like stated everything lights up but nothing. Initially thought Walmart ever maxx battery. They never checked, just replaced. Thinking key fob is the issue? Was being rushed had to hurry had emergency heading out of town .. used another vehicle .. replaying everything in head now I’m sitting here thinking simple as key fob battery? I took my truck to the dealership. The first time they relacated the fuse and it ran for a while. The second time they replaced the fuel pump and it worked great for three months. Now it won't start again. Should I just try replacing the fuel relay myself? The motor spins over it just won't start.

Well how you can tell if it's fuel-related is you take a few spurts of starting fluid and spray it through the induction tube unclip the air filter box and spray some starting fluid in there while cranking and see if it starts and if it does then you know it's fuel-related if it doesn't then it's ignition related

You saved me! Not only did the car not start but also the key fob wouldn't allow the car to lock unlock and disable the alarm. I just tightened that harness and boom all the problems were gone! For the whole day I thought it was the key fob itself that was broken, I was out of town and didn't have a replacement so I couldn't check against another backup. Thank you so much!

Dude thanks a lot! Funny enough, I was driving without BT and Voice as well for a week and a half waiting to be able to have time to get to that blue fuse in the same area. Wife borrows the truck and calls me to let me know she's stuck. My connector was a little different but I unplugged, and replugged and the truck started and low and behold, the BT and Voice came back as well. Must have worked it's way out enough to cause it to not start. Weird. #27 fuse was fine under the hood.

Yeah the number 27 fuse doesn't blow all the time, and some of the connectors do look a little different but like you said same concept same area you just have to tell people keep their feet away from that panel and don't push against it when they get in the truck

Your Very Welcome Just realize they have a relocation kit for that fuse They basically move it into one of the big box fuse slots and they add new wire's thicker wires at the end Keep an extra 20 amp fuse on you just in case you have to do that again because that slot actually burns up as well that the fuse goes in sometimes

@@fullcend-tkm73 thank you for sharing this video. Truck did not have any codes however it was driving sluggish and or acceleration was noticeably lacking. Pulled over and opened the hood…noticed that the engine bay was emitting a lot more heat than usual…I know the 5.4 puts out a decent amount of heat however no overheating issues per dummy gauge and or live data. Also no codes. While standing there I could hear the plastic fuse box cooling down from the heat cycle. Pulled fuse #27 and like you said it wasn’t blown BUT sure enough the plastic on the fuse was degraded and showing signs of burning. Also my MTE has been erratic…not sure if related but the ambient temp display was inaccurate. While i’m not certain any of the above is indicative of the fuse issue, I did as you suggested and installed tsb kit. Should I do a battery relearn and or fuel recalibration now that new kit is installed? Thanks again for all of the videos you make as well as keeping us informed.
