Once the cluster is out, can you see and access the grounding point for that cluster? My cluster back lights are flickering and things I've read said check the grounding point.

i know this video is old, but can you just change the bulbs in the cluster? my back lighting for my fuel and tac went out the others work just fine

After replacement of all actuators on Dodge Ram 3500 diesel plugged everything in . No I have no bus on dash . I disconnected both batteries before service , all went back together well now have no bus on dash and wiper keep running also no radio , I followed your video to the letter to replace. Actuators now I have no bus code . And gateway codes . Any answers I would greatly appreciate it thanks

A question my instrument cluster shows abs,brake, and service 4 wheel lights. I erase codes lights go out but them speedometer doesn’t work. Drive a little bit and all of a sudden doors will lock all the lights come back on but then speedometer will work. Thoughts

I recommend having the codes checked. The issue is not with the cluster....you have an issue most likely with something ABS related like a speed sensor. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe Dan.

Who programs the mileage the dealership or the factory? I ask because my dealership has one on order for my truck, it came from the factory all scratched up. The dealership is telling me that the mileage reading on the new cluster will be different from the 800 miles on it now?

Help if you can brother 2014 Ram 1500 5.7l v8 my cluster was working as normal i took it to the dealership to have some work done they ran a test on the truck and every since my cluster lights stay on and looks like it tries to do a reboot or wake-up it continues doing this after the truck is turned off and kills the battery any help to figure this out will be much greatly appreciated

Can the clear plastic/glass cover of the cluster be changed without changing the entire unit?

Yes it can. Just contact the local Dodge dealer and give them you VIN and have them look up the part for you...get their price and the part number, then google it as well to see what its going for online. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe

New clear plastic cover just snaps on over the cluster. Pretty easy. When it's out, you'll see the tabs surrounding the cluster, which hold it on.

Good afternoon If I may ask, why was the reason the customer wanted the cluster changed? My cluster shows 3 hairline cracks in the front plastic protector. Is there a way to fix it without having to change the entire cluster?

Its been awhile so I am not sure that the cause was on that vehicle. There is a good chance that the lens is sold separately. I dont have access to the parts for that vehicle to tell for sure so I recommend contacting your local dealer and give them you VIN and have them check to see what individual parts are avail for the cluster. Then google that part number on line to see who has it for the best price. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe

Have you figured out the cure for the problem with the gauges not working, all dash lights on, wipers staying on, and window buttons not staying on? This seems to be a big problem on early ram 1500s. Mine is a 2010 and just started doing it. If you make a video on curing that problem, you will get views out the wazoo👍🏻

I havent come across this issue. One thing is that what your speaking of is more of a symptom and not the issue. For example....if there is a Can Bus issue then default is to turn the headlamps on.....turn the wipers on....etc so that in the case of a module issue or electrical issue with the Can Bus....you can still drive the vehicle at night and in the rain. Otherwise the first thing is to scan the vehicle for codes....that requires a high end scanner that can access all the modules and then with the codes we will have a direction to go in. One thing is that the issue will need to be happening as well to be 100% sure what the cause is.

MotorCity Mechanic I had to remove my aftermarket radio to install rca jacks for my amp. Someone said i might have bumped the grounds for the cluster. Are the grounds located under the dash for the cluster? Think that might be it?

I doubt you did anything to the grounds related to that....they are bolted in place and you would have to do alot to affect them. Not sure where exactly they are located on that vehicle.

I was really looking foward on putting the laramie cluster on my ram i have the simple one i found one with the same mileage as mine but i dont really know if to buy it u was thinking of getting a new truck but i do its not going to be a ram or dodge i was thinking of a gm i think for does trucks you can change everything my friend has one and he did his with luxuary and everything it looks very nice and i am trying to make my ram look like that is it possible to to adjust (program) the mileage of my engine with the cluster? I really need help on this

Pedro Torres Morning, I cant tell you for sure that swapping the instrument cluster will work or not. Dodge doesn't give us that info and I personally haven't tries it so I cant say for sure. You can not program the mileage.....that prevents people from changing it to what ever they want and lowering the mileage so as to keep the value of their vehicle.....its against the law. Mostly what I do here at the dealership is repair work. Rarely do I get to try and "change things" such as swapping clusters to see what affect it has. Most of the newer vehicles don't like the change because they are designed to work with certain modules. Only way to find out for sure is to try and find someone online like in a forum that has done this swap or just try it.

Pedro Torres Your going down a road I haven't been before. The vehicle has a VIN specific build/configuration program that tells all the modules what it has and how things should operate. When you add a module that it didn't come with.....it can cause issues sometimes. It just depends. Some build configurations you can change while others you cant. Only the dealer can change the build configuration by updating/changing the sales codes.

jhallucf1 I have never swapped two different versions of the clusters so I cant say for sure it will work correctly. One issue you might have is the odometer not reading the same mileage. There is no set procedure for a swap like your suggestion that I know of. It could go well then again it may not. Usually you wouldn't want to swap a cluster of a different version for the possibility of other issues occurring. I personally wouldn't feel good about it myself but then again I never have performed that before either. Make sure to subscribe and help spread the word by sharing these videos with others,

+willlouis69 I certainly hope they don't charge someone that much but you never know when it comes to some techs and some shops. Hopefully this video at least gives a person a basis on how long it takes so they don't get smoke blown up their rear.
