I believe you can pop the cap off and there should be a bolt under the cap. If not. Lift the whole shifter surrounding the area and on the shaft of the shifter there's a torxlike 20

This is insane. Who the f#$% designed this thing? The only heater core I ever had to replace on an older vehicle only required disconnecting the hoses and removing s couple screws on a panel to access the heater core. It was very simple. It's probably quicker to pull the engine on this thing. This is insane.

Hi i have durango 2011 my heater stop working an as soon it does the-temperature rises i have replace thermostat water pump an radiator an maintenance in the couple months could this be heater core clogged!?

A clogged heater core theoretically should not cause overheating. If you have dual climate meaning a heater core in the back then you might be stopping coolant flow. I suggest turning on the heat when the overheating occurs. Double check to see if your cooling fan turns on and that you have bled the system

Hey I have a 2011 Durango Citadel and I just changed the door bend actuator because there was only hot air coming out on my driver side and cold on the front passenger side, now that I fixed it there is warm air coming out of both but it’s warmer on my driver side then my passenger side. Do you think you know why this is happening ? Please respond

Well make sure that the heater core is not clogged when it is partially clogged you will have uneven temperatures sometimes colder or warmer on one side than the other that's wanted the other tip is usually when you replace those blend door actuators they require a relearn procedure which can be done under HVAC module miscellaneous functions I hope this helps

@@lilgoat8642 it’s you’re whole hvac case assembly the doors are warped it’s a common thing on these i don’t know why! But just did this job. HVAC case assembly! my issue was very cold air on the driver side and hot air on the passenger side. Replacing hvac assembly fixed my issue. I started with actuators blend doors but didnt fixed my issue obviously ac worked because has good pressure and it was blowing cold 🥶 air on one side!

I have a 2013 DD. It's leaking coolant behind the engine and running down both sides of the trani oil pan. Would you agree that it's the heater core?

I would hate to agree just because some Auto parts like AutoZone May let you borrow a boroscope inspection camera or hopefully you can fit a mirror back there get a better idea and see what you might find it's not too complicated maybe 30 to an hour to remove the towel which will give you access better disability to the heater core hoses

Engine compartment. This vehicle was not mines this I can no longer access it however I do know that from under the vehicle it is very difficult to see much pertaining to the Hcore

Ended up being the oil filter cooler. I thought it would leak over to the front of the engine if it was that but I thought wrong. Leaks over the back around the trani pan... lol
