The pipe that's sticking out of the engine into the intake on the driver side is a 22mm to remove. The injector fuel rail is two 10mm bolts to remove. One bolt I forgot to show is a 13mm on the bottom of the intake, access it from underneath looking up at the intake

There's a hose on the bottom above the starter on the back of the intake manifold that has to be carefully disconnected or it will break during the final removal!

And the metal tube on the right side inside the manifold (pictured at the end of the video) has to come out using a 22mm or 7/8 wrench

very helpful! i have a 08 ford escape 2.3 and i cannot get the water pump off i have removed 3 bolts holding it and have chipped peices of it and it has not budjed i was thinking taking the intake off and the thermostat housing to hit the water pump from behind do you know if waterpump can be hit with a pry bar from thermostat housing hole?

thank you for your video. can you tell me where the MAP sensor is located on this very same engine. can't seem to see it want to attempt working on my own escape. can't afford a mechanic now. thanks.

I believe it’s in the air intake if you undo clips to air filter it should be right inside

The PCV valve is on the back of the intake. It's right there where you can get to it when you take the intake out.

I was gonna remove the Starter to try to get to mine since the PVC is between the Starter and intake manifold. If that doesnt work this will.

Why did you replace the PVC valve? What were the symptoms?

Been awhile on this one. If I remember correctly, rough idle, lean codes. Ran it back to the hose had a crack in it causing a large vacuum leak. So replaced the assembly while it was apart.

It's bolted to the backside of the intake. 22mm to remove the pipe sticking into the intake
