2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid Trim Idle Reprograming.

This trick also worked on my 2012 MKZ Hybrid. It had a rough idle and about 1/2 the usual power. The digital power meter wouldn’t go above 1/4 and if I tried to accelerate or go uphill the engine would rev extremely high. After doing this it completely fixed it. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for posting this. Sad news about the Tundra! I just learned to live with my 2011 MKZ's annoying "stumble" during the EV->Gas transition - I didn't know there was a solution! Bonus: I didn't know the rear seat access or window roll-down tricks either, so thanks for those as well.

Mine doesn't do that when switching between electric motor and gas! I get hesitation when trying to move forward like it has bad control of Air/Fuel for brief moments! While on the highway it rides fine! Check engine light stays on, but will go off occasionally and then turn back on! I get a wrench light after a good distance 16-80 miles at 70+ miles per hour. Never get the wrench light at speeds lower than 70mph!

Same thing with the engine light and the wrench icon! If you continue to drive hard with the wrench icon on, you will get the RED ⚠️ saying STOP NOW SAFELY. I have a question for you, Have you serviced the transmission in anyway? Assuming yours doesn't have a dipstick either.

⁠@@Justtrying2065i have yet to try what was shown in the video as I’m currently sitting in my car outside work with a dead battery, but I can confirm that when I used forscan and reset the battery age from being stuck around 9/10 years old, and back to 1, the time it took to accelerate was very noticeably quicker, and I could now drive up to slightly over 40mph on a straight stretch of road only using the HEV battery - which you can see using two of the four available display options.

How did you get the rear seat to fold down? Normally there are levers in the trunk. But I guess because the batteries are there they down want you messing with it

Jeremy Wilson-Dice there are two cut outs of liner in the trunk battery cover. If you flatten your hand and feel along the frame work you feel a round, dime sized switch that's about a 1/4 inch long. You push this towards the right and it unlocks the seat back. I know this has been a while since you made this video, but if you see this, do you know if someone should do this procedure if possibly the dealer didn't and it has been driven this way for a long period of time?

I would recommend it if there is any question. The good news is the the car will eventually learn its idol speed regardless of the the dealer neglected to perform this step after a service, so there should be no damage. Performing a trim idol programming will just ensure the vehicle performs as expected sooner than later.

Hey Jerry, This is fords way of saying something is wrong and you need a code scan. I used the Free License Generator to get 30 Days free of ForScan on my Win PC and I was able to diagnose that my Fuel Pump had a bad connection, and I replaced the entire fuel pump assembly and all for 75$ on amazon. Fixed my problem. But beware that wrench could be throttle body, fuel pump relay, bad MEC pump, or a number of other terrible things. So do the test first and see what codes you get. The app is not that hard to use, I watched some youtube videos to learn a few tricks on how to use the program. I'm sure you probably already got the problem fixed, but to others with this same problem it is the throttle body. There was a recall from Ford that replaced the throttle bodys on all Fusions except the Hybrids for some reason. Idk why since they use the exact throttle body as the 4 cylinder fusions. Replace this and you're good to go
