Here's what I don't get. I did a 2012 GLK350 and collected/measured the fluid I got out of it, which came out to be a little over 5.5 liters. How is it ok to just put 4 liters back in? Does the 2012 take more fluid than the 2011?

I watched another video were they heated the transmission up to a certain temp and added more fluid?
@Dailymercedes2 жыл бұрын
You can, but this way works the same if you put the exact fluid amount back in

Don't you have to run the car to normal operating temp run the gear selector through all the gears and re check level?

Tom Goumas you don’t have to. But if you want to be 100% safe then go ahead but I’ve been doing it like this forever and no problems.

Great tutorial for GLK transmission fluid service. Does the GLK 350 transfer case share the transmission fluid? Or, is the transfer case fluid replacement a separate service?

I got coolant in my transmission and it's jerking. Fixed the radiator. Could a tranmsission flush save me or should I just go straight to having someone rebuild?
@desmondlouis57622 жыл бұрын
Currently dealing with this helllike situation. Coolant mixed up in my tranny, luckily for me, I noticed it on time n I did my 2nd flush, it drives fine on D but when i switch to R it delays n vibrates before engaging. Wanna do d 3rd flush next week n if that doesn't fix it, I'll looking towards a rebuilt🥂

How did you drain by poked that hole? And I didn't get how did you refill through that same hole at the bottom? So when you poked the drain hole looks like there's some kinda valve that won't let oil drained out. So you had to replace that valve also? Is that a special type fill plug that plugged in the drain hole? Kindly explain a lil bit
@Dailymercedes3 жыл бұрын
No special tools, fill where it drains as well, there’s a cap in the hole you just poke with a pick, to release the rest of the fluid, you will also see the cap once you take off the pan!
@mdashiqurrahman393 жыл бұрын
So in that process I gotta take off the oil pan. Because once you poked the cap it has to be replaced when the pan is opened. Its not like my Mazda CX-5 that taking off oil pan is optional when it needs a filter change as well. But in cx5 I could just drain the oil from the drain hole and refilled from the top. Thank you so much for your valuable reply sir
@mdashiqurrahman393 жыл бұрын
Got one more question. How many quarts of oil do I need to do this service? I got information in some website total fill capacity 10.2 qts. But that's total fill capacity, I'm pretty sure this is how it's not gonna dump all fluids. Thank you in advance
@mdashiqurrahman392 жыл бұрын
I just done mine by watching your video. Very nice video. I'm not sure if I put the right amount of fluids. I tried to measure fluid that I drained and got about 4.6 qts of fluids and I filled with about 5 qts of fluids. Hope I didn't overfilled. What do you think the right amount fluids for this job sir?

Hi, my GLK350 has 80K miles on it. I took to the dealership and they told me that is is better not change transmission fluid since it passed 60K. Doing so will cause slip in transmission. He told me that it does more harm to change than not to change. I also heard from another mechanic that I should change transmission fluid and not listen to the dealership. Which is correct? Thanks.
@Omardottcom3 жыл бұрын
I have a 95 mitsubishi monteeo that I changed the transmission fluid on when it turn 100K. Replaced the fluid with Amsoil full synthetic transmission fluid, thing still shifts like new and its been 3 years since i did it. 60K miles on a transmission is nothing. However, this method only changes a small amout of fluid, the converter is holding most of the fluid.
