Without this video I'm not sure I would have figured it out. I watched the same videos of guys just reaching back there and pulling it right off. Thank you so much.

Your tip about releasing the connector clip with an Allen wrench worked perfectly and saved the day on this job.
@danthemanjohnson76863 жыл бұрын
Agreed!! thank you bud!! helped immensely. I used dielectric grease LIBERALLY on the connector so this will be easier IF it happens again in the future. Thank you!! - DTM

THANK YOU! You just saved me from setting my truck on fire! I’ve been trying to get this off for about an hour and have two bust fingernails and a skined knuckle. Used the small Allen as suggested and it popped right off

...funny ... I was telling my mechanic, I was hoping he was "calling me to tell me the truck caught fire and was a total loss!!" LOL!! I cant be that "lucky". ...been tired of ALL of the "ding dongs" and "dummy lights" happening the past year!! LOL!! Tip#1: I replaced ALL of the under-hood fuse-box fuses (use dielectic grease LIBERALLY!!)... THAT TOOK CARE OF ALL THOSE "DING DONGS"!! Tip#2: REPLACING ALL THE UNDERHOOD FUSES TOOK CARE OF MY "airbag" dummy light ON TOO!! I had that airbag replaced I (recall) n July '21, and the dealer said, "The airbag light probably wont go off")... well BS!!... IT WENT OFF Once all the fuses under-hood were replaced!! just a hint/tip thats all...To NO MORE "DING DONGS"!! LOL!! Tip #3: "Stabiltrak" OFF when turning steering wheel left!!!... "DING DONG"!!! fixed this too!! (SWPS) Steering Wheel Position Sensor!! Done!! "Ding Dongs" GONE!! good luck folks... DTM

Thank you for the video. I have a 2011 GMC Sierra February 2018 at a GMC dealer and I spent 400 dollars to get it fix. Today, the oil pressure sensor went bad today and I'm trying to fix it myself.

dude. you rock. was doing this on my 2011 yukon denali hybrid (possibly less room) and cursing after 45 minutes just trying to undo the clip. I needed more of a grip so used a "free" paint can opener from home depot i had after trying the allen wrench approach and shocked myself when it popped off. thank you seriously... had scoured for other videos. Dont forget to slide the white tab lock up first..
@sawyergallll20095 жыл бұрын
So you wedged the paint can opener under that blue tab and pulled up? I'm trying to do it. Had no luck getting the mysterious clip up or the tab.

Allen wrench good idea, thanks for making this video what you said in the beginning about maxing out and then going to zero is exactly what mine did! Didn't think it would trip the check engine but make sense cos you were right about that, it came on as well and I would guess like you said it is pressure switch related.

If you squeeze the top of the release and then slide a flathead into the front gap on the baffle and ease upwards, you can save yourself a world of heartache. Don't get me wrong. This replacement sucks. My wrists are bruised and I shed a couple of knuckles, but did this job today. Thanks to David for the walkthrough, which really helped, but a hex key or hook is not necessary on a 2011.

Some great tips for sure. However, he didn't mention the mesh filter that is inserted in and under the pressure switch. That filter likes to clog up and cause low or we eratatic fluctuations in oil pressure. New filter costs 7 bucks on line. Screw out the switch, reach in the hole with a hooked pick or similar, snatch it and pull it out. Slide in new one , open end down, and screw in the switch. Prolly don't need the filter, but , put one in to protect the switch from clogging I figure.

Do those sensors go bad, cause I've gotten 3 oil changes and my oil pressure still haven't got passed 40, i constantly starts at 10-20
@davidcowley38845 жыл бұрын
Eugene Smith mine rarely gets over 40 usually goes up to 40 and as engine warms up stays around 25 which is normal

Find a 3/8 bolt that fits width of new screen,then after old sensor removal thread bolt into old screen pull out.Then just gently insert it into new screen and put it in hole and slowly back the bolt out.Also screw that sound guard,my trucks 10 years old 150,000,I snipped a small square above the sensor so I could see clearly.Up with safety tab, push it in pull up,Piece of cake.This is a good video,but there is way better ones out there in more detail.

i reviewed this one and several other videos during the coarse and wasted time. would like to save others time. HACKPROTIP: I did this on a 2011 GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid. David Crowleys tip kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKOndJqsZ92FfLc to remove the clip is great as I mentioned below i needed more of a grip and used a paint can opener. HUGE RECOMMENDATION: Disconnect the fuel line after venting the fuel line schrader valve (easy to get to on the 2011 yukon - on passenger side fuel rail - just move the couple hoses down and you will see it a few inches down the fuel rail. open the cap, put a rag on the top and use a philips head carefully or a valve key and depress. then get a $10 3/8" fuel line disconnect (round piece of plastic, mine came in kit from autozone w 6 sizes). I struggled initially to remove the sending unit, and could not get it backin and start the thread for 2 hours.. ridiculous. take the 3 minutes to vent the fuel line, disconnect on drivers side and then you csn reach straight down with your hand. I threaded it instantly and am sure it would have eased removal too. Also - its a pain in the butt (I used a 4" bolt w coarse thread to remove it) but replace the oil pressure sensor filter that is sunken under the sending unit otherwise you might be doing it twice! dorman part # 917-143
