For anyone else attempting this on your own, I sent the part to a company called UpFix. Took them two weeks to fix all the seals and replace the pump. They cleaned it up so well it looked new when returned to me. Cost me $450 as opposed to the $1300/new or $800-900/used. The only downside I had to wait 2.5 weeks to get the part back.

Can you go further in depth on how to do the gravity bleed? Currently attempting to now and it would help! Like how long you waited for the fluid to come out.

If it’s not coming out after a bit have someone push the pedal down and snug up the line before release the pedal do that a couple times see if it starts on its own otherwise you have to bleed like that

Usually it’s just the attached accumulator that goes bad, I took mine to the dealer cause my accumulator went bad and he told me the tech said no I needed the module and it would cost $3000. I told him it’s the accumulator but if that fixes the problem then yes I agree to pay that. Tech changed it and found out I was right. I had a loaner car for a month through all of this process. Most techs just throw parts at vehicles now because either they don’t know or the dealership won’t pay the worth of good mechanics anymore.

Hey Great Video!!! I have a 2011 Lexus LS 460 Rear Wheel Drive I was told by by my dealership I needed a new ABS module so I purchased a used one for $645 and had it put it in for another 1180. Now the mechanic that put it in is telling me that they cannot get the rear breaks to bleed, but the front did bleed, and they think I purchased module with a bad pump. They want me to send the module back, purchase a new one and charge me an additional $800 to put another in. After watching your video I dont think they know what there doing. Can you please advise me on how to bleed the the rear brakes? Or what you think my next step should be?

@@kevinhayles3311 start bleeding close to the master and work your way back to the rears . Use a pressure bleeder if you have one or make one from a cooling system pressure pump and get a cap that fits the reservoir and fabricate a fitting on top and pump some pressure on top of the fluid to force it threw a vacuum type at bleeder fo not work as good

The gravity bleed is what is confusing. did you bleed the brakes by yourself? You mention pumping the brakes with the ABS lines 1/8 turned open...how did you not get air in the system?
@richierock1300 Жыл бұрын
I loosened like a half turn push to the floor install a long bar to hold pedal down then tighten the Le and release the bar and repeat a bunch of times to help bleed master also loosen up a little and let them drop too start at top work your way down sometimes easier with someone pushing pedal you open then push down and hold and you tighten then release pedal and loosen and push pedal
@robertsumner9980 Жыл бұрын
Once you bleed master and confirm no air in ABS Module, then you need to bleed each line going to the calipers, right? This way you finish bleeding the entire system, correct? You don’t mention this in video.

@@robertsumner9980 well your right there , I got lucking and didn’t get any air in the system kinda hard to explain but if you have fluid in a hose open on top and closed at bottom the fluid won’t drain out until you open the other end and if siphon out kinda like the same effect hope you understand
