My W212 has no steering lock, no emulator and a foam block where steering lock should be. Also, I too learned about clearing codes to reset computer, had a misfire, replaced coil and misfire remained. The computer shut down the fuel injector, once codes were cleared misfire was gone. I too about had a breakdown, as the intake manifold covered the back coils.

really curious why you are using alldata when you have access to star wiring, I used to yell at my new hire that came from midas, he would always use alldata instead of startekinfo at the dealer. alldata is terrible for european cars. terrible. like, terrible. did I mention it is terrible? :) I normally dont comment on channels, but I been poking through your videos. Hard to find good honest people such as yourself and myself, so keep it up man. Lou oh p.s also, what may have happened with clearing the codes, is all you may have needed to do was lock the car and unlock it to make the car sleep for a quick second so when you unlocked it , it would recheck the systems. We have seen this more and more where you have to do that, or the issue will remain. in the most randomness of systems.

Hi thanks for the video recently I got a 2017 GLA 250 in my Shop and the instrument cluster was doing strange stuff like the outside temperature was reading no temperature just 3 bars and a multiple warning light was coming on and off intermittently especially when the car was running for a while I put my scope on the can bus under the driver’s seat on the seat module and when the outside temperature was ok the can bus signal was normal but as soon as the outside temperature gauge was not functioning correctly the bus signal very erratic the same with the warning light I found the interior can bus connection behind the instrument cluster on the left and checked for anything abnormal and all was fine but when I would touch the can bus Connector the signal would sometimes be affected I ordered a new distributor like Mercedes call it and it fix the problem I saw nothing wrong with the old one and since they are high and not sitting under the carpet like a lot of other Mercedes cars it was just defective there are very little in this part a couple of soldered parts not sure what they are but it’s a lesson that these things can failed without any water damage.

Hey there. Strangely iam dealing since 2 days with a w204 c300 gas engine v6 .was called in a shop to diagnose as a no crank with all dash errors on. We have the same exact scan result .I mean to the letter. Missing srs - engine computer- electronic shifter fuel pump module and tcm the scan. When i saw the chassis can fault on the central gateway , i looked computer data diagram on prodemand and notice that most of the modules(: ecm tcm electronic shifter was) on can c wich is blue and blue/white wire. Scoped that can c and guess what perfect signal like you saw. Spent next 2hours looking factory diagram ....and c checked power and ground to ecm.ecm 5v ref....and couldnt for the sake justify why ecm wouldnt talk as its a gateway and have more that 1 can network connected to it. .thats when i noticed something very important. CHASSIS CAN IS DIFFERENT FROM CAN C. CHASSIS CAN IS CAN E AND IS GREEN AND GREEN WHITE IN COLOUR. Scoped chassis can and voila can is shorted. Located the chassis can connector on driver floor panel lifted the carpet found a pool with connector submerged in water. When Chassis can is down on these. Can C ( drivetrain) wont operate even though it scopes fine.. i think the front sam needs chassis can to be operational for can C to transfer data.
@ousmanesarr72872 жыл бұрын
And the obd connector is wired with canD ( diagnostic can) . And connect to front sam. Wich is the main gateway on this vehicule.all 4 to 5 cans go to front sam.

Hi Mario. If there is a short to ground on one of the CAN network. Can this affect/damage any of the computer on that same CAN network. Nice work you are doing
@SuperMarioDiagnostics2 жыл бұрын
It usually won't damage anything. It will cause lack of comms to everything in that network. But if it's only one wire, it may go into fault tolerant mode(single wire mode) and still communicate. But since its only one wire, there will be no noise termination, so you'll have some issues with interference or repetitive messages etc. But this will typically not permanently damage a module once the short is removed

@SuperMarioDiagnostics2 жыл бұрын
It's a cloning programmer, one of the best in the market
@jeremyah782 жыл бұрын
Got cha. So in the case of a corrupt, or otherwise dead module from which to clone, you would have had to have access to OE software like with a j2534 tool, yes? I know in this particular case, your boss had a replica file for the flex to read and write, but if he didn’t, would that still have been the tool to use, or would you shift to a j-tool? I know you kinda touched on it in the video, but I wasn’t quite clear about what you meant. Sorry to take up your time Mario… not to worry if if the answer is more elaborate than a simple reply will do justice. I’m just curious because in my limited experience with it, programming with a j-tool is generally a pain in the arse! I’m really quite curious about better options on the market.
@SuperMarioDiagnostics2 жыл бұрын
@@jeremyah78 a jbox won't Finnish the job for a Mercedes. If there was no file available to clone from, a used module could be reset, or otherwise coded to make the factory software to believe that it's a new module, and the module would then be personalized, activated and coded to the vehicle. I personally haven't tried the Mercedes j2534 software. It may do the job, but i have my doubts. We use sdconnect c4 with xentry Will be upgrading to the c6 soon
