Just a heads up. Blow out your engine around the intake assembly with compressed air. Lot of pockets for dirt to collect around where the intake seal is. As soon as I removed the intake assembly, tons of sand, dirt, and crap dumped into the ports.

Thank you , i am sure you saved me time & frustration . I will have T.B. O ring & 4 intake seals on hand when i do my tune up . The hidden bracket bolt behind T B . would have bummed me for sure . TB advice on " do not disturb" is very much appreciated .

pro tip:, a lot of time those intake bolts can be seized because of course nobody ever replaces the spark plugs or coil packs unless they absolutely have to when it involves removing the intake, specially a plastic one...lol, drive the car around get er nice and hot for a bit before u bring to mechanic, and the heat of the engine will make it much easier to break the seized on bolts, then just let the engine cool down so the mechanic can work without burning himself, also good idea to clean out the throttle body while its open for the customer.

Can you clean the inside of the throttle body once it's disconnected with cleaner on a rag, and can you clean the inside flap without worry while gentle wiping it?

3-5-2021 Started the teardown on a 2009 cube with 308,000 miles (YES 308,000 MILES) to replace the sparkplugs that have never been replaced. It started missing on one or two cylinders bad today. The 2nd plug from the right (I'll call it number 3), had a small amount of oil in the sparkplug tube. Hoping I dont have to pull the valve cover to fix the tube and reseal. Reassembly planned on 3-6-2021 if all goes well.

Hello I was taking down the intake but when I watch your video after putting everything back together I realize that I pull out one of the spark plug wire and it came apart I put it back together but now my check engine light is on and it's running bad can you help me it's a 2011 cube ?

Thanks for the video. It should be a piece of cake to replace the spark plugs for a 4 cylinder engine. For this POS, you have to remove so much stuffs, this is really poor design.

Thank you great video. I have to do my son's 2011 Cube first time at 167,000 miles total money pit rebuilt CVT trans cost me $3500 at 106,000 miles. Check engine light came on check code was P0420? I'm hopeful replacing sparkplugs will clear the code? We were better off purchasing a Kia SOUL with no CVT.

I Had the same exact thing happen to my 2011 cube. The trans had to be rebuilt at 105,000 miles. The recall was only for the 2010 models the 2011 models are not covered. Now I need to replace the spark plugs and I'm running into this crap.

I have a problem with my 2009 Cube. When hot the engine can shut down. It can be restarted but it could happen with someone following too closely. Could it be the MAF sensor that is located close to the air filter ?

When you say "hot" do you mean it overheats then shuts down?

just wipe it down with brake/parts cleaner. be careful not to touch the flap or move it.
