This video is about replacing the spark plugs for a 2013 Nissan Cube. I have reduced the task to a minimum number of steps. Although there are numerous other ways to achieve this, this step-by-step method will provide an orderly and straightforward procedure to view and complete the task. If you feel the video is too fast, you can slow it down by clicking the settings (the gear wheel at the bottom of the video) and the playback speed to reduce it. It is my sincere wish that this video helps you in some way. May you have good luck and a very blessed day.

I have a pearl white Nissan cube Z12 2013. I love the saying," l don't mind dying, l just don't want to be around when it happens":) Looking at this plug change procedure I'm thinking," l don't mind changing my Nissan cube spark plugs, l just don't want to be around when it happens!". Great video thanks, may you have a blessed day as well. Geoff in NZ.

Great video. I just performed the task this morning without issue. I would recommend for those who attempt this themselves that a standard 14mm spark plug socket will not fit in the spark plug tube. Best to use a standard 14mm socket and a telescoping magnetic pick-up tool instead to remove and insert the spark plugs.

This is one amazing and wonderfully done video! No extra added fluff, straightforward and extremely accurate! All of the parts and tools were laid out too! Changed both manifold gaskets as suggested too! I also ordered the spark plug adapter too! In addition, cleaned the intake manifold and throttle body. Saved me a ton of money vs the dealership! I can't thank you enough! Liked and subscribed! I greatly appreciate this video! Thank you again! 💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙂

If you disturb the TBI plate, you need to go through a relearn procedure to ensure the CPU properly positions the plate & the idle speed is correct. I can find this procedure for a keyed ignition, but I haven't found it for the push-to-start as is in the 2009 SL model I have. Any referrals or words of wisdom? I assume my 2009 and your 2014 are identical in most if not all respects. I am also planning to change the coil packs. Too much work to get back in if one fails, and after 100k of firing old plugs with the gap out of spec, the coils have seen a lot of heat and high-voltage stress. I doubt they would all go another 100k. Yours still look good, but the spark plug tube seals on these engines are notorious for springing oil leaks that will then short out the plugs. Unfortunately, the spark plug tube seals are not available separate from the rocker arm cover, and that costs from about $230-300+ depending on which online stealership you buy from. If the spark plug tube seals do start to leak, the spark plugs may not short out quite as quickly if you use a high-temp dielectric grease on the spark plug boots that is specifically designed for this purpose. (Regular dielectric grease not specially designed for spark plugs will likely protect the boots from seizing to the plugs well enough, but too much may melt out to protect the spark plug boots for long from motor oil intrusion.). Put the dielectric silicone spark plug grease on the boots & the spark plug insulators. Try to keep it off the spark plug electrical connector (where it could interfere somewhat with electrical conduction and thus encourage misfires). I would use the OEM NGK double iridium "laser" plugs myself. These have a 100k expected lifespan (assuming you are running clean and not burning oil). The thread surface metals and rolled threads are designed to be anti-seize out of the box. Do not put any type of grease or anti-seize on the spark plug threads or you might damage your engine with pre-ignition.

Torque values would be handy if added to the captions. To draw more viewers, you might want to mention in the title that this video also applies to the Versa. Thanks so much, this video made doing this job much easier.

If, while cleaning the TBI, you disturb the position of the electronic throttle body air-control plate (AKA the TBI butterfly valve), you will likely need to put the car's computer through a relearn procedure to ensure that the butterfly valve is put back in the right position. If this is not done, the idle speed may be incorrect. This setting is very sensitive. I can find this relearn procedure for a keyed ignition, but I haven't found it for the push-to-start as is in the 2009 SL model I have. Any referrals or words of wisdom? I assume my 2009 and your 2014 are identical in most respects. I am also planning to change the coil packs. I suspect that if the TBI butterfly is only slightly disturbed, the car's CPU will relearn without forcing the CPU to the relearn procedure. I cleaned my TBI very thoroughly with Q-Tips soaked in WD-40, being careful not to snag cotton in the butterfly valve or its shaft. I had no problem. Car started and ran normally.

Do you have the CVT? Mine went out at about 28k & was replaced under warranty. At 85k I changed the fluid twice, but being in a driveway, I was afraid to pull the pan, clean the pan magnets, and change the internal oil filter. (I thought I might introduce more dirt & dust than it would be worth as the wind kicks up each afternoon here.) I used OEM fluid (but without the Nissan name. I might have pulled the pan if I had a video like this one to tell me what to do step-by-step so that I could get in and out before the wind kicked up. Still working under the car in a driveway with a foot or two of clearance is no fun.) The dealer wanted several hundred to change the fluid & they refused to remove the pan or to change the internal filter. The dealer also said they would provide no guarantee that the tranny would work after the fluid change, as sometimes the new fluid flushes out sludge which then causes problems. Our car now has 100k on it & it is working great. However, I don't fully trust the CVT. I love the CVT though in that it does give the car a lot of zip. I don't have to worry about having enough power for merging lanes. The CVT is a good match for this car. The version sold in Japan with the electric motors in the rear axle also would have been cool. This is actually my wife's car. She wants to put in a rebuilt transmission if and when the current one dies. I've found two sources I might consider. Nissan apparently has a rebuilt CVT they certify and that their dealers will install. It has a 1-year warranty. The only other decent rebuilt I can find with an apparently good reputation is through GoPowertrain. That unit comes with a 3-year unlimited mile warranty. I don't know if the dealer would install this one, but there are one or two transmission shops here that don't do too badly on Yelp. Any comments?

Unlike most older vehicles, the 2012 Cube's fuel filter is an integral part of the fuel pump assembly. In theory, it will last as long as the pump. Nissan doesn't sell a standalone replacement filter, but aftermarket manufacturers do for some cars. Alternatively, some aftermarket manufacturers have you bypass the original filter and you then splice their filter into the external fuel lines. Unfortunately, that still requires you to access the internals of the gas tank. Before you invest that time, you might want to consider your current fuel pump's health. Are you in the habit of running the car low on gas? That starves the pump of gas that cools and lubricates it. If your pump has been subject to such abuse, I'd consider replacing the pump and filter assembly together if you are having a fuel problem. If not, there is no routine maintenance to be done. BTW, driving with a near-empty tank is not only bad for your fuel pump, but it is also risky in emergencies. Be prepared and fill up!
