I bought Astra J before 10 days as my first car ( I was driving other cars in family that aren't on my name). Car is sensational, I got almost high end package (half canvas-half leather seats), electric parking brake, automatic lights, two zone ac etc... It's more Insignia that Astra, especially because its in Tourer variant, so it's kinda similar from the side :) This is our 3rd Opel in family (had Astra F before 20 years, and we still got Zafira A). Great company and great cars, much, much better than overpriced and boring VW concern...

​@@stefkobli totally agree with you, my father drove astra g caravan... Good child memories when 2.0 dti pulled like a bullet😊... So i own astra j 1.7 cdti st... In our family 2nd generation...but i think my next car wont be opel anymore😢.... For now its important that my astra lasts long😊😊

@@danieldaniel733 Nie jest ani ładny ani brzydki a przez to nudny jak flaki z olejem. Wersja J GTC to jedno z najładniejszych modeli Opla. Zupełnie inne lampy z tyłu, inna linia boczna, opadający dach i refletory soczewkowe w standardzie sprawiają że jak na ponad 12 lat wygląda obłędnie.

It is 16 valve engine, double cam. It's a diessel but he thinks that he is a petrol engine😊

To był mój samochód służbowy... znowu był świetny! Super osiągi, fajny samochód, ale tak jak w przypadku Astry poprzedniej generacji, są trzy rzeczy, które mi się w nim nie podobały. Pierwszą rzeczą był widok. Masz ogromną przednią szybę jako panoramę, ale widok na północny wschód w widoku kierowcy był tak dziwny, ponieważ słupek po lewej stronie jest tak masywny, a między przednią szybą a boczną szybą znajduje się małe okienko, przez które absolutnie nic nie widać i jak? Inną rzeczą, która mi przeszkadzała, była deska rozdzielcza, która wyglądała jak kokpit samolotu, nic dramatycznego, ale ktoś z dużymi palcami będzie miał trudności z zalogowaniem radia, a drugą rzeczą, która mi przeszkadzała, był hałas silnika, który był po prostu głośny...

Ive had this car as a Sports Tourer from 2011 till 2018 and sold it with 160000km. The car was great but the engine is too weak for the weight. Now I have a Astra K with 200hp engine. I miss my Astra J after all.

Zaszwe mi się podobała, miałem G przez 10 lat, wybór padł na 308 2009 r hatachback, wymiarami bardzo podobny do Astry J, przód według mnie w peugocie ładniejszy, tył w astrze, ma ktoś porównanie odnośnie wyciszenia astry j wzgledem 308? Mam 2.0 hdi i silnik jest świetny.

i have exactly that engine in my astra j st. acceleration during drive is completely good, in lower rpm is a little lazy. otherwise its a good engine, i never had serious problems (not yet hahah)

2.0 cdti is good engine, but there is fault with the o-ring on the oil pump. You make sure that on every oil service also change o-ring. Otherwise the engine will seize.

design looks good on the outside but that engine is terrible. noisy and takes 13 seconds from 0-100 although its supposed to have 125 horsepower. if you want a diesel I would go for the 2.0 CDTI with 160hp. my engine of choice would be either the 1.4 turbo petrol (140hp) or if you can afford it the 1.6 turbo petrol with 180hp.

The 1.7 cdti Isuzu engine is bulletproof and very reliable and has plenty of power with very good fuel consumption. The 2.0 cdti with 160 hp is a fiat engine and is not as reliable and economical as the 1.7 cdti. This engine is personally also far better than the new 1.6 cdti of the newer generation. The 1.7 cdti engine might have the very well know scv problem (rpm fluctuating). Cleaning it or replacing solves the problem. Also cleaning the egr valve can improve fuel consumption and acceleration. Important is to drive this car with the 1.7 cdti every once in a while on the highway to prevent the diesel particle filter from clogging up. Other than that, it's a great engine that can cover many kilometers. They don't build this kind of engine anymore unfortunately.
