2011 Toyota Tundra 4.6L V8 Oil Change - Complete Step by Step Guide
Today I'm changing the oil and filter on my 2011 Toyota Tundra.
I'll show how to remove the skid plate, drain the oil, remove and replace the oil filter cartridge, fill up with new oil, check the oil level, re-install the skid plate and finally reset the maintenance required indicator.
Toyota part number for the Drain Plug Gaskets: 90430-12031
*Note: I kept referring to the o-rings on the oil filter cartridge as gaskets. My bad.
Of course, they're o-rings but serve the same purpose as a gasket.*
WARNING - DO NOT Overtighten the cap at the bottom of the oil filter cartridge!
I did during the oil next change I did a few months after I shot this video!
After I filled the oil and got to the step where I started the engine to check for leaks, the oil filter cartridge cap was leaking!
When I checked to see how tight it may have been, the cap snapped off of the threads!
Thankfully I just happened to have a spare cartridge and I used the cap from that!
