Service manual says to apply 3 Bond to the entire surface of all 4 of those rounded cam sections, not just a little dab in the corners.

Did you need to jack up the engine at all for the driver's side cover removal? I'm having a bear of a time even with the battery removed, on a 2011 OB Ej253...

U said at the end it’s a 2.5 outback. But u list it as an Impreza 2.0L?
@agermats Жыл бұрын
I think it should be 2.0L for Impreza.
@4gclipseGT Жыл бұрын
probably the same process for both

This is a 2.0L Impreza. Not a 2.5 and not an outback.

Why did you use RTV? It hardens the rubber gasket and prevents it from doing it's job.
@maxs1700 Жыл бұрын
per the maintenance manual, you need to use sealant on those spots, but i'd like to know which sealant/liquid gasket he used.
@edwinrodriguez804 Жыл бұрын
@@maxs1700 you should be able to use any solid RTV. I typically use Permatex Gray, it instructs a 24hr fully cured time. You can also use Permatex The Right Stuff Gray, which is a 90 minute RTV if you're pressed for time.
@brandonh6326 Жыл бұрын
Any oil resistant gasket sealer will work. I'm guessing he used Permatex, but I'm not sure. You have to add a little dab at any sharp transition point to help out the gasket or it'll leak from those areas.
