I got mine at the Joe Myers Ford dealership. Went there at 12:30 and they said they would it by 1:30. Guy called me around 1:20 saying they had it in. It was 31.85 plus tax so about 34 and some change. Thanks for the video...big help. I’ll be changing mine this afternoon.

How do I know if I should replace this? would this be leaking engine coolant at each end of the hose and/or if the rubber is cracked and leacking through holes? I learned that the hard way last year on a different part of the cooling system. :(

So my aunt has this same car and they wanna charge her 400 dollars to change these hoses cause they are leaking. Crazy. How would u go about bleeding the system after changing the hoses and filling it back up. ? Would u just open the reservoir and turn the heat n full blast and let the air bleed out the res or is there something else needs done. Thanks for any help very appreciated
@NoneMechanic101
@NoneMechanic101 4 жыл бұрын
I got lucky. I didn't have to bleed the system. The way I would do it is if I have to bleed it. I would fill the reservoir close it. Turn the car on. Press the gas paddle until I reach 2000 rpm for 2 minutes. Let it go down and do it again a few times. I would turn the heat on also

If you can't pull it do not force it. You going to end up breaking the heater core pipe. Lisle makes a tool to unlock the hose Part# 39200. Ebay has it for about 12.00 dollars. Also check in Amazon. If you have prime you can probably get it the next day.

So I need the other hose the one that says RH. When I look up the part number on the hose I cant find that exact number very much. BVG1-18K5810-KG. Having a tuff time figuring out the other hose part number. I was able to change the LH side because of this video when it was leaking. But now the other side is leaking and Im having trouble finding the part. Any help would be appreciated

I know this is an old video but on your 12 focus did you use a lot of coolant because of the heater hose?

Please be aware that what seals this hose is not the lock but a simple o-ring. Once you have the hose off the heater box, press on sides of grey part that turns, it will come off the end and inside you will find a simple o-ring. I am grateful that the repair only cost me $35.00 for one hose but in truth, for less than a buck you could fix this by just getting a new o-ring of the right size!!!

Nonemechanic101, I have two questions? 1. Are the LH and RH hoses different lengths and shapes? 2. What is the part # for the RH hose? You showed the LH/inner hose part # is KH856.
