How do I know if I should replace this? would this be leaking engine coolant at each end of the hose and/or if the rubber is cracked and leacking through holes? I'm trying to troubleshoot my AC and wondered if this could be related. Thanks for the awesome video and warnings of plastic parts that could be broken! I learned that the hard way last year on a different part of the cooling system. :(

So my aunt has this same car and they wanna charge her 400 dollars to change these hoses cause they are leaking. Crazy. How would u go about bleeding the system after changing the hoses and filling it back up. ? Would u just open the reservoir and turn the heat n full blast and let the air bleed out the res or is there something else needs done. Thanks for any help very appreciated
@NoneMechanic1014 жыл бұрын
I got lucky. I didn't have to bleed the system. The way I would do it is if I have to bleed it. I would fill the reservoir close it. Turn the car on. Press the gas paddle until I reach 2000 rpm for 2 minutes. Let it go down and do it again a few times. I would turn the heat on also

If you can't pull it do not force it. You going to end up breaking the heater core pipe. Lisle makes a tool to unlock the hose Part# 39200. Ebay has it for about 12.00 dollars. Also check in Amazon. If you have prime you can probably get it the next day.

Please be aware that what seals this hose is not the lock but a simple o-ring. Once you have the hose off the heater box, press on sides of grey part that turns, it will come off the end and inside you will find a simple o-ring. I am grateful that the repair only cost me $35.00 for one hose but in truth, for less than a buck you could fix this by just getting a new o-ring of the right size!!!
