Also for the weather shield for removal with out damage i used a razor blade and carefully cut the glue. While grabbing the shield peeling it back that way it doesn’t get ruined. Did this on my 04 Accord EX V6 Sedan only has 75,300 miles. At that time of door lock actuator replacement. Did it at under 70k last year.

DAYUM............I wish I would have watched this video before giving my dealership close to $600 to do just the driver's door. They even stroked me into buying the latch assembly along with the lock actuator, claiming it was a 1 piece assembly. Assuming the procedure is the same for all 4 doors, can you please give part numbers for each of the 4 doors?? Keep up the great work with these videos!!!!!
@BigDog500015 жыл бұрын
Yeah they can be expensive! Parts vary by make and model so I wouldn't want to give you wrong numbers. I would just plug the VIN of the vehicle into any of the online Honda parts dealers (I usually use HondaPartsNow) and search for either door latch or door lock and you should be able to find the part numbers you need. Thanks for the comment!

6:23 I'm pretty certain that those 3 tap in connectors aren't aftermarket, but rather some sloppy kludge on Honda's part. My wife had no dealer installed or other aftermarket options on her 2011 Accord EX-L V6, and it has those. They have caused me more trouble with the actuator install on the driver side front door, because those tap in connectors managed to bisect the red and white wires where they passed through the connectors, now I have to fix those as well. The problem is I'm not sure which wire taps into the red wire, and which taps into the white wire. The orange wire, which also has a tap in connector, hasn't yet split.

great video. What is the purpose of the blue wire with he white end connector that you had to disconnect at the lock assembly? Alarm? Mine is a 2008 Accord sedan and doesn't have. thanks
@nighthawkj30A42 жыл бұрын
On the 7th Gen Accord Models the door lock Actuator is separate from the door lock its self. Which is good because i found that after so many years. The door lock Assembly. Like the Lock rod clips and hinge has alot of wear. So better to replace the whole thing.

My 2009 Accord door key lock will not turn and have no fob. The alarm goes off for two minutes after opening door. Is the actuator a suspect with these symptoms? Great video!

Question about door locks. Key fob and main door switch only unlock the driver door, hatchback and other 3 doors stay locked. But if I manually unlock the 3 doors the hatchback will lock and unlock using the fob and main switch on driver door. Any ideas??? I was told the driver door actuator Controls the rest of the door locks to some degree.
@BigDog500015 жыл бұрын
On some models they can be programmed to only open the Driver's door lock and nothing else (they can also be programmed to only open all locks with one press of button). If it isn't a programming issue then the locks will need troubleshooting. It helps to have a Honda capable scan tool on newer vehicles to see what the module commands are.

In the beginning of the video you used the key remote to roll down the windows my accord used to do that but it no longer does, but I can still roll down the windows from the inside would you happen to know the cause of it not working with the remote?
@TheSnawk3 жыл бұрын
Since your comment is a year old I'm going to assume you got this fixed or have a different car, but my 2008 Accord is doing the same thing as you described. Neither the windows nor the sunroof open when holding the button on the fob, but they work when activated from inside the car. Since this problem started happening around the same time my lock actuator failed, I would guess that it's a symptom of the lock actuator instead of the remote, since the remote still works fine for unlocking the trunk.

@@BigDog50001 I may give this one more try next weekend. If I understand properly it should just pull out? Is there a clip holding it in at all or do you just grab and give it hell?
@BigDog500016 жыл бұрын
John There is a white connector that needs to be pulled out a little bit first, it pops out about a quarter inch (but stays on the cable), then the entire cable can be popped out. The white connector locks the cable in when it is pushed all the way in.

I now have an issue with my 2008 Honda Accord. But the thing is that the door cant open from the inside or outside but the door locks work. Is there an issue with the door latch mechanism?
@BigDog500015 жыл бұрын
Possible, but there are also a few cables/clips etc that can break. Unfortunately many times when the door can't be opened at all, the door panel (and sometimes even the door) can be damaged during the repair because the area is difficult to access while the door is closed.

I have a 2011 honda fir the rear left door lock won’t lock even if I push on it manually. The mechanic says it is the actuator. I can get the part for 197.00 it’s actually called the Latch Assembly, L Rear Door Power Product ID: 72650-TF0-003 does that sound right?
@BigDog500014 жыл бұрын
I don't know if it is the correct part number for that vehicle but the door lock actuator is part of the door latch assembly on most newer Hondas, including a 2011 Fit.

I replaced the door lock actuator assembly, but the door still didn't open from the inside. Before I changed the part, I noticed that the cords were slipping out of the metal bracket that holds them in place. I changed the actuator anyway. I assume it must be the door cables at fault, but not sure if I diagnosed it correctly. Any other issues that could be the cause of the door not opening from the inside? The door opens fine from the outside, and I hear the locks turning, so I don't think it is an electrical or sensory issue. I'm Perplexed. BTW, the video was very helpful, easy to follow.
@BigDog500016 жыл бұрын
I would start by looking at the cables, attachment points and the inside door handle looking for anything broken or out of the ordinary. When the door is opened or locked/unlocked there should be smooth movement of the cables on each end. You can look at the door on the other side of the vehicle if you are not sure how it should be operating.

I can’t get that blue cable out
@DrCitrixmeister13 сағат бұрын
Struggled with that several times today. The white collar over the black connector has to be slid away from the lock actuator assembly, in other words towards the outside door skin. It must move about 1 cm. Once it's withdrawn, you can then pull the black cable out of the lock actuator, again pulling it towards the outside door skin (unless you've removed the entire actuator from the door, then you'll be able to see what you're doing, but you'll have a hard time removing the lock actuator without disconnecting the silver rod going up to the outside door handle, which is also difficult).
@ScagAteHerСағат бұрын
@ I got it out. It was just caked in mud so it was really stiff. It was just a struggle to get the leverage to pull it out. Took a lot of wiggling and patience.
