2012 Honda NC 700

This is the new Honda NC 700 SA. Laurie's first impressions.

Loved the style of your video as an interview of an owner. I bought one and am quite impressed also. Rode a CB500X today to satisfy my curiosity I bought the right bike. The CB was excellent also but took a little more revving. The NC is more relaxed. I would say the CB would have the edge on outright power, but only just. The NC is all about the midrange power. Two great bikes but I am happy I bought the right one for me. It is my 2nd bike, the first being a Triumph Sprint GT 1050.

I live in Costa Rica and have the exact same bike, same color, 2013 Model ! Wonderful machine, not once regretet it , and I've had a variety of bikes in my life. Did 18000 km during the last year. Made two changes so far, a GPR slip on and an aftermarket seat. Since I sold my car last year, 'she's' my only transportation... and I'm lovin' it !!!!

Been looking around for my next bike and this one seems awesome for a commuter bike, the storage space is ingenious!

Hi, it's actually my buddy Laurie's bike. After a week or so of him driving it, we did switch so I could try it. My bike is a 2010 BMW F650GS. When I got on his NC700, I found it had lots of power, the handle bars were quite narrow compared to mine, and the steering was more street bike-like. I also found that the wind really hits you hard in the chest and head. Also that you lean forward a bit. On my GS I have a tall aftermarket windshield. Honda really needs a better windshield for this NC700.

I liked the power of the NC700, I also absolutely loved the storage space! I really wish my F650GS had storage in the faux tank. BMW could learn something from Honda there... Using that faux tank for storage is just better engineering in my opinion. The NC700 did very well on gravel roads, and on woods trails too. I was quite impressed with it, although I still prefer my F650GS. I suppose it's just what a person gets used to.

congrats on the bike... this bike is so misunderstood by many... wondering why it only has 47 hp (dyno meassure on wheel :-) for a 670cc engine... It is a long stroke car-engine (stroke larger than bore) ,, two cylinders out of 4 cylinder 1340cc 99 hp honda jazz.. This equals,, tons of torque at low rpm, limited top end power,, but very fuel efficient engine.. and 12.000 km serive intervals.. top speed 118 mph. enough I would say :-)

You need to get yourself a hugger, a radiator guard and a fender extender. If you're on facebook there is an open english group for this bike. Search for Honda NC 700 and you'll find loads of pictures and info on this bike... Good choice :) I have the X myself.
