Adding my data point. P0777 permanent. P0730 temporary. 2011 Jeep Patriot with 115K miles. I replaced BOTH filters (there is one up top too). They were both completely clogged. I cleaned off the fine metal shavings around the magnets in the pan. I replaced ALL 4 solenoids with new parts from EBay. And then filled up with 6 quarts of Mopar CVTF+4. So far, so good! I can't clear the permanent code, but no more limp mode so far, and it used to do it within 5 minutes of driving.🤞

The permanent code should clear itself after the problem has been fixed. I'm not sure how long this takes but I did get permanent code out of mine. Mine went back into limp mode after doing this but my transmission only pressure tested at 50 pounds. I do believe you need 75 to 200 hopefully everything works out for you. I need a new transmission. I've traded mine off for a Mazda five that'll be coming up on the channel in the spring. Thanks for watching best of luck I'm not liking CVT's anymore.

Try clean de DTC errors with a scanner then drive again and check if appear again

It solved the issue for about four months and then it returned. I'm going to be changing the whole transmission.

Hi guys. I’m having the same problems. P0777 despite a Cvt rebuild. Apparently it’s due to the pump valve. Have to replace it with a free flow valve Fingers crossed that it will work.

I'm in the same situation, my main line is only producing 25 psi. Apparently you need 75 to 200 psi. I'm planning on changing the whole transmission. I don't wanna take it out of there put it back in and have it fail.

Hello , thanks for the video. I have a jeep compass 2011 2.4 it wont shift to second gear is in limp mode , I scanned OBD it shows p0777 which is the solenoid stuck and P0730 gear incorrect ratio , i asked a mechanic shop they said it needs a transmission replacement but this CVT’s are crazy expensive, did yours had the same problems and changeing the solenoid fixed everything or the car went again on limp mode?

The P0777 is the only transmission code that I got. It still doesn't seem like it wants to shift at a normal RPM unless you play with the gas pedal. I'm not sure if I'm having it transmission issue or throttle Body Issue. I do know you can get a P0730 if your fluid is low. Still trying to figure out how to check the fluid on these because that may be my issue as well. If that doesn't fix the problem then I'm afraid it's probably much deeper. From blocked fluid lines to a bad torque converter.

When I bought mine it had a whining noise when you rev the engine, i did an transmission oil flush and filters the noise went away but it wasn’t shifting right just like yours in the video i had to play with the gas pedal or sometimes it was shifting fine , it worked like this for like a month and now it’s in limp mone wont shift no more it doesn’t go more than 10 mph and throwed to me these codes. Do you suggest me to try to replace solenoids ?

@@or703 replacing the secondary pressure solenoid should take care of the P0777. As far as the P0730 that could be a multiple of different things and I just don't have the experience to know. So knowing that I'm not a mechanic what I would do is replace the pressure solenoid and hope that that takes care of the P0730 code as well. I just don't wanna give you bad advice especially when it's $100 in fluid just to check if that would fix the problem.

2012 compass p0777 only replaced all solenoids and stepper, valve body cleaning and inspection, both filters changed fluid filled to spec. Driver hub and bearing driver cv axle all 4 wheel speed sensors. Still code p0777 no other code limp mode with no shift. Ecm sets full limp no pedal response if test driven too long or rpms raised above a certain point haven't figured out which. To check fluid level technically you need a scanner that reads trans oil temp and there are dipsticks made to read the level at certain temperatures. Cheap to buy but can be confusing. From my reading and have plenty of manuals if you need including the factory repair manual not just the workshop repair manual. But it guve the break down of test each DTC code including p0777. I have performed all electrical tests for mine and can say that although the code is to solenoid b stuck on my particular issue is not the solenoid itself. Most of the testing for this particular code requires pressure testing (2000 psi gauge remember) the possible causes for this code can be Fluid level Dirty fluid Clogged filter(s) Solenoid B Pump Blocked hydraulic passages PCM As listed in factory manual I believe mine personally may be the pump but I have yet to find. If you need anything from myself to help please feel free to ask as I said I have many pdfs to assist with this issue. I also want to say there is that part of me after doing this for a long time and specializing in fixing what can't be fixed I keep having a feeling that the po777 code sets so permanently into the pcm that even after fixing its possible the damage has already been done and the only solution may be flashing/reprogramming. I have a friend at aamco offering to diagnose for free so if I get it to him I will update you on what the verdict was for mine.

Also according to the manual when removing the valve body your supposed to use the pin as well to hold the lever in place and like yourself I did not my first time removing it and I was wondering if removal changed the ratio however it doesn't seem like it just moves that easily so I am not sure l. The manual say during removal so that the valve doesn't move but I'm sure it's referring to the manual valve on the valve body which lines with the pin. However I did use the pin each of the 3 times I have removed and reattached it so far lol 😢. And this last time I removed it being my 4rh now I wanted to see exactly how the pin and manual valve looked prior to removing it because as I stuck my pin in for proper removal according to manual it seemed to hit just the bottom edge of the lever and could not be positioned to hold the leverage in assembly. Possible a thinner tipped pin could slip past edge tho but I was using pin hook I had broke tip off of so tip was about size of pencil lead but it is possible that the pin is not lining up during assembly although I do use pin to hold in place. I don't however get codes for gear ratio such as p0730 that it should give if misaligned but I also cannot get vehicle up to speed and I don't know conditions for setting the p0730 dtc fully.

I would think so since it's the same solenoid. Just so you know this fix only worked for a couple of months. the transmission went completely out after that. There's a bigger internal problem and it's usually the pump. I'm gonna just replace the whole transmission with LKQ online used transmission. . I'm replacing the whole transmission because when pressure tested it's only giving me 50 lbs of pressure. This transmission requires anywhere from 75 to 200 lbs of pressure. Thanks for watching

The only number I can find and I don't know if it's correct is 08105-2. That's the number on the top of the solenoid.
