When I visited my friend in Moscow last year he just bought this car! Its simple and very inexpensive and just to drive to point A to point B. The clutch was very hard but still a very economical car.

when you look videos about russian car crash you can see that about 10% of cars are Lada Samaras' so the are very popular in Russia or the other countrys in the east.

Guys, i think you don't know why this car is produced.....Possibly the people in Russia are not so rich like in Europe, so they need no fast or pretty cars. I don't know exactly, but this Lada would cost about 5.000-6.000 Euros so it's cheaper than a Dacia Logan in the cheapest version.

I bought a 21 years old lada samara last march, and I really love it. It is not a pretty, modern, powefull car, but it was cheap, the parts are cheap as well, and if you look after it is very reliable car. Takes you from A to B. Greeting from Hungary!

Forget about Dacia Logan and Renault Thalia on Russian's motorways. Even for Czech "quality" roads I would pick something with strong chassis and cheap spare parts. Dacia and Renault Symbol/Thalia do not have strong chassis neither cheap spare parts. Have you checked prices of spare parts for Dacia?

This car reminds me of a 1997-2002 Ford Escort Wagon. They only updated the front end and dashboard, apart from that the car is the same as the 80s model.

the problem with lada was this model is actualy created in late 80 or mid 90 but started mass production years and years later.....Sure they added modern lock and stuff but in fact you're looking at a 80's model

In Mexico we have traditional american car brands, also french, english, german, spanish, japanese, italian, and swedish car brands. We had for a few year shitty cars from China: FAW. I do not know if LADA is a cheap bad brand, it is good?

LADA is a very good brand, which has very good and durable cars, in some cases it does not look like the most modern car in appearance, but the cars are very good. But there are also a lot of modern cars like LADA Granta or LADA Vesta👍🏼

Lada was selling this car in the Czech republic - between 1986 and 2000!...If I wanted to buy new "clean and functional" car without electronic crap, I would buy e.g. Dacia Logan or Renault Thalia, but not so obsolete car.

just get a used Toyota. it'll save you a lot of hassle. I used to own a lada riva. forever in the garage it was. my 16 year old avensis on the other hand, still runs like a new car.very rarely has a problem
