Add some grease to the tip of the spring to keep it from popping out

@Ziya, I believe Problem Solvers, Shimano and DT Swiss sell centerloc to 6 bolt pattern adapters.

The special black screw on the non-drive side (@10:00min in the video) sometimes get loosen by its own on my Mavic CrossMax SX wheels. This is when I drive the bike on a very rocky downhill trails. The wheel may have a slack as high as 2-3mm when you push/pull the tire to left/right. I found this a bad design flaw and not amused about it 😞I fixed this problem by designing a 3D-printed 2.60mm ABS spacer ring between the end-cap and the special black screw. In case this special black-screw gets loosen again, the spacer will block - hopefully it does not become worse... If you guys suffer such a problem, you should measure the gap with a digital caliper and build a spacer like that.

Nice video... and the last 15 seconds cracked me up. So with these new freehub bodies... there's no neoprene bushing that wears out like the older Mavix FHB, which then cost $70 to replace?

I wouldn't advise using auto brake cleaner on bikes, as generally it can penetrate and mangle seals and other rubber rings. Finish Line or White Lightning sprays are o-ring friendly, and don't damage paint either.

Nice video. Curious why you're running an Ardent on the rear.

@ripptorr.. I can't comment on the use of Phil's or Mavic One.. But I have had good luck with Slick Honey... As for the locknut.. I have not used any loctite but definitely will keep that in mind if I have issues with it loosening up on me..

Nice! Exactly what I was looking for.. Question; on 4:21, could put some Tri-flow oil on the bearings? Will it help to run smoother? Probably not or what do you think? 😅 thanks!!!
@jrsandiego5 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it would be a problem... my one concern would be.. that it may attract dirt to it..

@Wil... For this bike.. The fast rolling Ardents suits the trails and the way I ride..
I can't comment on the ST's.....but the SLR's have been pretty awesome....pricey but awesome..

mavic recommends using some threadlock when reinstalling the freewheel locknut. I just use some loctite 243. Just to be on the safe side. Would be curious which oil suits better to use, the mavic one or Phil's. I have both in my shop and the mavic one is thinner. Any one tried them both to give a feedback?

Do you recommend the SLR or ST cross max?

Why did you remove axel? (I don't have the tool)

Just to thorough with the maintenance.... the tool came with the wheelset

Thanks for reply! I bought used bicycle without tool so I think I will skip removing axel since I cannot find this tool for purchase anywhere.

If you have a part#.... ask your local bike shop to check with their distributor to see if they have left over stock..
