I have a 2009 model, and installed L.E.D.s myself. I rode it out of the dealership with 7 miles in the odometer, NOW, 24K plus and still use the original brand name tires since they give me about 10 to 11k of lasting thread, SAFELY! I ride everyday my friends.

@@justinDIERIN I started on a 250cc same size most MC training classes use. Later purchased a 2007 Yamaha 650 classic with 500 miles on it now after 9 years have nearly 28,000 on it. Have replaced tires 3-4 times but zero mechanical troubles. Just one flat rear tire last year. Have had it serviced regularly. I am 74, 5'8" 196 pounds. Am ready for a Yamaha 950 tourer or Yamaha 1300 Tourer.

I purchased an 09 model 950 last Friday for my first bike! I'm still pretty new so the learning is still pretty sketchy but for the most part I think it's a more than damn good bike all around!

+Sean Kerr No lol. I should have been more clear. Same style as mine I bought a used one with a mustang seat. 7,000 miles on it and feels great. It even came with a throttle lock for "cruise control".

if you don't like the windsheild on that bike then your in luck, it is a quick release, you can pop it off and on in 2 sec, no tools needed, same for the sissy bar on the back.

Anthony, Yamaha sells a "medium" on their website for this bike. It looks like a perfect size on it. I really can't understand why they keep putting these short ones on their bikes, they look ridiculous.

I love my Yam 950 Midnight Star. Some good advice about hand signals which I use sometimes. It is easy to leave then on because as you say you don't look down that far very much and the indicators are obscured by the handlebars.

I just took a look in my Mississippi Driver's Manual where the hand signals are described just like you did. Don't know about other states but all drivers should know how to interpret these gestures. Way cooler and safer than riding along with the damn blinkers on which I see all the time and think oh boy next intersection could be your last...

Watching so older vlogs on the Yamaha 950's. I have a 2012 Suzuki C50T, would I be getting that much more power if I upgraded from the C50T to the Yamaha 950? I realize its only a bump up of about 140cc's. I am asking as the C50T seems a bit strained on the highways after about 70 mph. Do you really gain additional power by going from a shaft drive to a belt drive? I have heard & read you do give up a little power with the shaft drives. I am a larger person 6'2 and 260 lbs. Just curious if it makes sense or if the Star 1300 a better way to go? I would appreciate your thoughts....Thank you

Why do Yamaha cruisers have so much transmission whine?
@keylargo20013 жыл бұрын
I recently bought my 6th bike. I was looking at the 950 and liked it. But after a lot of consideration i decided against it. My work commute is a little over 100 miles. I don't beieve that the 950 would be up to the task of taking days of constant highway travel. I previously had an 1100. The 1100 handled it but it was breathing hard. So I did some searching and found a 1300 deluxe that I purchased.

First of all sorry for my english ( I just speak only a Little english ) I hope you can understand me the same. As there are three size ( Short medium long) of the original windshield for yamaha xvs 950 midnight star I would like to know which is your? I know that I have to consider my height but also would like it looks Nice so I think your size is the right size. thank you so much by Vittorio.
@vittorioarnoldi62288 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sean for your advice. I supposed as my height 6' 4" I have to buy medium size about 20" like your, what do you think? And what about width ( is better standard size 23" or more)? Your opinions are very important for me. STAY ROCK!
