2013 Dodge Charger R/T : $20 Backup Camera install to stock headunit

In this video I installed a $25 backup camera from Amazon.com to my stock headunit using the stock harness in the trunk.

Thanks a lot bro. I did the same to wire up my 2014 charger rt and now i have an amazing rear view cam with just 40 dirhams spent (approx 10$). I added the cam in 3rd brake light just like oem fitment. I was a bit worried to drill hole in the light cluster but everything went really good. And i already had the srt pages loaded in my uconnect so there wasnt a need to flash the computer. Lots of love from Dubai.

I tried it on a 2015 RAM and it worked, I disconnected the radio and added 2 extra pins on the harness, the yellow cable on the 31 pin and the black cable on 32 pin

Jared Hardin Its a Tazer from ZAutomotive.com. You need it to enable the backup camera so that it the image is displayed on your uconnect screen when you put the car in reverse.(if using the pre-wired harness)

iAm Jones ooo, i see. Them flowmasters look dope. I copped flowmaster super 10s with a reso delete and my shit have heads turning especially when i manually go in 1st gear at 4-5k rpms. Lol. So I did the same thing to my 2012 charger, for what ever reason on the screen when I reverse it shows things on the opposite side. For example if there’s a car on the right hand side on the screen it shows it park on the left ...... anyone knows a solution to this issue?? The original backup camera did the same thing so I bought a $20 camera to fix the solution and I’m back to square 1.... HELP

There should be a wire to either cut or connect for that. It's a mirroring function of the camera.

Reggie Lamay yeah the wire harness should be the same for that hear. If not the same colors the placement of the wires you have to splice into should be the same.

Yeah, you have to use a tazer to unlock the option, even if using an OEM camera.

Aight cool. I'm doing something similar with my '17 Challenger. But my yellow RCA from the aftermarket cam had 3 wires. The 2 lines that you tapped into for video, do you know the names of them? Like "Camera return" or "Camera Signal"?

jordan gilmore that I don't know. But if your harness looks like mine I don't think the placement of the wires would be much different, if at all. But since you have 3 wires in yours I'd say just use trial and error bro.

Ed Cameon I don't have the link but I got if off amazon. The picture quality of the camera is great, night and day. My only issue is it's not flush with the tail light. I'm gonna look for one by the same company that's flush for a better look. install should still be fairly simple.
