I have the Chrysler 200S fully loaded and the 283 hp V6 is awesome. I have driven VWs for years and the 200S is a total step-up from the Passat. It is a cool car.

I purchased a 200 in 2011 for my wife with the 4 cyl and the car has been awesome with no problems at all and we always get complements on the way it looks so I purchased a 2014 s model with the v6 and I love it the interior yes has a basic lay out but its classy and great on the highway its crazy how everyone dogs this car and I have owned over 200 cars in my life of driving and this car is nicer then and lot of the cars I have owned including my German imports I have owned

I think the 200 is an underrated car. I think it has a stigma associated with it because it's a revamped Sebring, which was a cheap, crappy car. The 200 is a HUGE improvement. Not saying it's perfect (interior is BLAND), but it's a good car overall and an excellent value. You can pick up a V6 version for around $20k. Try doing that with the Verano. Ain't gonna happen. As for the Dart, it's in a totally difference class than the other two. These guys need some guidance.

The Chrysler 200S has a "tiptronic" which allows the 200 to be driven as a manual and if they had tested its 0-60 time using it they may have improve the time. What they fail to tell you about the 200S is that four way disc brakes, nitrogen filled, Eagle GT tires, dual exhaust and the handling is much better then they admit. The V-6 engine is very responsive, and the back seats offer a lot of leg room.

Had Verano once as a rental car and loved it. Comfy, quiet, nicely plush suspension, pretty good audio too. 2.4 feels a little underpowered, but overall it feels like an expensive car. Made me feel business LOL Even managed to undercut official mpg figures, but drove extremely sensibly in manual mode.

It boggles my mind how much crap people give the 200, my mother is in the market for a car right now and i cannot find a better value for the money. She wants heated leather and remote start (we live in MN) and ive found 2013 models with those and under 30k miles for 14,500. Nothing can come close to the prices of that, if you wanted a camry or accord with heated seats, remote start and with 20-30k miles you would be paying 5-7k dollars more, and that is for a 4 cylinder model! Its almost like a conspiracy that all these automotive journalists steering us away from the 200, "dont buy it, its too good of a deal!".

Ron Johnson Agreed! my 4th car was a Dodge Neon (not sure of the year, but it was the original body design). I was mocked like hell by most of my friends, and was even skeptical myself, but it turned out to be the most resilient, problem-free, low maintenance, and FUN TO DRIVE cars I have ever owned since. It felt like driving a go-kart in terms of perceived speed and handling. I even got a $1,000 speeding ticket in it (fast). To this day, it's the car I miss most, and the Dart seems to be a close homage to it; although I have yet to see one suped up to the tits.

Looks like the 2015 Chrysler will make it the most luxurious as well. It's nice to see both Buick and the Chrysler brand offering lower luxury cars in a class that seemed to largely have disappeared with the loss of Oldsmobile and the confusion of Lincoln.

Come to think of it, wait until the new 200 comes out - think of the Dart with that V-6... In the meantime the 1.4T lets you have a lot of fun without loosing your license.

I know for a fact nobody is going to see this comment but looking back at this video 10 years after the fact. I want to say the 200’s will hold up a hell of a lot better than the Dart but I can’t say much about the Verono. I have a 2015 Dart Aero with the automatic and my cousin has a 2012 200 LX with the 2.4L with the 4 speed and a 2013 200 Limited with the 3.6L. Granted my Dart was driven spiritually when I bought it but third gear grinds like there’s no tomorrow, I needed to get a vacuum line for the turbo or else it would throw itself into limp mode, I have issues with the interlock module so the key won’t come out in park and it cost $700 between getting a new shifter assembly and the labor, along with the blower motor that went out on me in the beginning of winter (that was loads of fun to replace). Anyways the 2012 200 LX has 205k miles on still runs, had no major issues with it besides the transmission going out at 150k but it still runs like it’s brand new. The best part it’s been driven as spiritually as my Dart and the maintenance has been up to date on both. I’ve had so much fun driving my Dart but if I could go back to the day I’ve bought my Dart I would choose a 200 with the 3.6L. Hopefully to do this day someone is watching this video and reads this comment to see they should DEFINITELY pick the 200 over the Dart

Love the Buick, the Buick is about luxury and a smooth quiet ride and quality you can see, hear and touch. The Buick feels expensive and you can feel it. The other cars are fast but are cheap and look and feel cheap.

I bought a 2002 Jeep Geand Cherokee for 2300 last month because...guess what...both exaust manifolds were gone, both cracked (V8). I fixed it and let it go for 4600. I always do research on common faults a car might have before I go look at it, it makes me be more aware of the potential problems. This is what made it easier for me to zoom in on the manifolds...that and the noise they made. It is a relatively common problem, look it up. I wish you many more miles with your Jeep.

Pretty unfair to compare the Chrysler to the other cars because it is a V6 but I also drove a Buick lacrosse and that bad boy moved! The DART is an awesome car completely being fucked by the fact they don't offer more powerful, less compromising engines. The DART has the best technology of its segment because Uconnect is the best touch interface made TO DATE - even compared to the $100,000 German cars. Hopefully, it will get the power it deserves in the DART GT cause Chrylser seems to imply there won't be an SRT. (Mistake #2) I don't have a problem with the DART name.

The Dart actually is the better option with an automatic transmission, I found the sportshift of the dual dry clutch provided much more smoother shifts, and is quite faster. I can do 10.7 0-60 in the Automatic letting the car shift itself.

The 200 is a midsize sedan, and the Verano is an entry-level luxury vehicle. It's not fair for the Dart. The Cruze from GM would've been a fair comparison.

Great comparison, except for one thing: "It [the Verano] is the only car of the three that has a sunroof" The Dart has a sunroof option, and the its price would have still been less than the Verano, so I'm confused why this was said. Chrysler intentionally left many Dart features as options to make them more configureable, but I think this has caused a bit of confusion because some people don't do enough research.

The 200 handles very well. For these guys to shrug it off, I think makes them loose credibility. The last 2 GM dealers shop I went into looked like a boutique. And plenty of $29,000 and up price tags on vehicles. 2013 Dodge Avengers are going for $15,900 in my area. That's how you do it in a bad economy. You can buy, and run them for all they are worth! Not lease for 32 months and 10000 miles per year. What a racket!

The Abarth and Dart engines aren't completely identical, which is why the Dart gets better fuel economy and an extra 15ftlbs. It will still feel slower though due to the extra weight.

The Dart is a compact economy car, competing with the Chevy Cruze, Ford Focus, Civic, Sentra, Corolla, etc. It's designed to be fuel efficient, not fast. Unless they come out with a performance oriented trim, as Ford did with the Focus ST, you won't likely see a powerful engine in the car anytime soon.
