As someone who owns a gen 4 coyote, this is TERRIBLE. Equal length it, X pipe, the muffler after the X so it doesnt sound like a fat person clapping ass dowm the road.

Terrible to you isn't terrible to everyone. It's Not my circus and Not my monkey the owner can do with it what he wants. He probably thinks your Gen 4 5.0 sounds horrible. At the very least it probably sounds just like every other 5.0 with an exhaust he doesn't like.

@AndrewPruteanu depends on what exhaust note you like. Some people want no snap crackle or pop while others actually like it. I like to hear "some" crackles pops and snaps. The 5.4 they dual straight piped was way too much this 5.0 sounds right where I like mine. There are people who like the borla or magnaflow sound and then there are people who like the cherry bomb glass pack sound.

That’s what happens when it isn’t in the salt belt. Salt destroys frames. My 2002 Suburban is extremely clean underneath like that with no rust, and it just hit 22 years old.

Only engine that sounds good true dualed are Hemis, because of the natural deep sound they produce, so the clap doesn't sound as raspy. I love the Coyotes, but not true dualed ones.

What he needed, was an X in the middle, and a resonator down the exhaust, It'll give it that deep growl, and quiet down those crakels, so all you hear is a deep loud roar, and not a loud crakels

I'm trying to find a good sounding exhaust for my 2000 chevy suburban 4 wd? It currently has factory exhaust with cats. I currently have a one inlet dual outlet flow master muffler but it doesn't have the sound I'm looking for? I once had an 88 chevy 1500 truck with true duals and punched out cats with glass packs and 3 x 12 echo tips. Was loud but got me tickets for how loud it was...sadly. I'm trying to find something that is not super aggressive but has a throaty growl to it?

Super 10 or muffler delete with a pipe. Got my 04 4.8 with no muffler and a pipe, sounds great. Magnapacks aren't bad either

borla s type. perfect half way for guys like you. I wouldn't recommend getting the full cat back though. that's 1200$ minimum. just get the mufflers and have and exhaust custom bend you some. would also recommend x pipe. or double x pipe

Magnaflow hi-flow cats (after ~ 23 years yours are likely clogged) and muffler to suit. I'd second the Borla recommendation, or a lower-number Flowmaster than what you're currently running.

I feel like a lot of trucks sound like ass because they go for dual pipes. I have a 5.3 with a single 3" catback from the Y straight pipe and it sounds way better than all these dual piped trucks.

as a 5.0 owner myself i have to ask why? These sound horrid straight piped. I would know, shoot I had mine straight pipe free flow exhaust. Bare minumum run a small reso itll clean the sound up immensely. I got long tubes hi flows an H pipe and vibrant bottles its deep as hell and throaty but it gets LOUD when she gets down.

Well?… If you want a truck that sounds like complete crap, go ahead. True dual a 5.0 V8 with no X-pipe and use 2.25 inch pipe. You’ll definitely get the god awful raspy fart can noise or bubble wrap noise. I just don’t understand it. BUT!…. It’s his truck, so there’s that. 🤷🏻‍♂️
