@@geneyus6411 I actually used to design, build and install stereos for people quite a bit. A buddy and myself made a decent little bit of money doing this for awhile. Then my other career required me to move and that was the end of that venture...

You could use the Maestro RR module and retain those features as well as utilize the vehicle information on the head unit with a unit that can retain Sync features. I may end up switching to this at some point.

At around 19:15 you're talking about connecting your smartphone to Android Auto using a USB cable, and that triggered me. (My Focus is different in it has a Sync3 unit installed, but still...) I tried to use it, it failed miserably, and I eventually gave up on wired AA. I experienced random disconnects while navigating or having a phone call or whatever, having to manually reconnect to AA. You really don't want that happening while driving. Also, charging the phone didn't work: the phone battery would just slowly drain empty. Nothing I tried solved the issue. In the end, I just bought an AAWireless device (which I guess does what the name says, and no, I'm not affiliated and am not making any money out of this). I pulled back the USB connector in the center console and closed the hole with black tape (I still don't have a better idea of how to plug that hole), connected the AAWireless device to it, and stuck it to some rigid plastic part using 3M tape so it's out of the way and wouldn't rattle. Now, I'm having wireless AA, all is working, and it's like the world has become a better place. For charging the phone, I've put in a proper quick charger into the same space, using the power cables attached to the cigarette lighter plug. This means you only see the end of the USB charging cable that is inserted into the phone holder, and the phone is now actually charging. Also, I can now detach the phone from the charger when it is fully charged as to not abuse the battery, and still use AA. Yes, these devices cost money, but in my opinion they are affordable. So if you're stuck with something that only offers wired AA, I'd really go wireless; I've never looked back...

Thank you for the comment! I have actually been frustrated recently with some random disconnecting issues with AA so I may actually get one of the wireless units to attach to the unit!

How does adding a head unit affect the smaller original screen? Such as using the settings and ect.

It makes it nearly impossible to use (I basically only use it for backup camera)...I definitely should have gone with the other kit that gets rid of that little screen altogether!

Does your rear sensors still beep? Mine don't and its frustrating me. If they still do beep what could my problem be

where did you buy the wiring harness? to connect it from the old stereo?

Lots of places sell the harness...it is important to make sure to get the correct one as there are a couple of options. Amazon, Crutchfield, Best Buy and more sell the harnesses 👍

Link is showing the frame with the small screen for 200. Is the stock screen reused with the new setup?

There are a couple of options - this video re-uses the small screen (which I would not recommend keeping after doing this). If you did not want to get a stereo with the iDataLink Ready Harness you would need to keep the screen - if you opt for the better stereo, get the other kit (it is more expensive but you get far more options!). Went with the setup you recommended below. The setup didn't come with a wire diagram. I was able to match and cut what was needed, but I have 3 extra wires on the harness (yellow/black, blue, and brown) that doesn't match any other color and have no other wires to connect to. Advice lol
