Hey, great video! I wanted to ask, though. Is it possible to do this without removing the engine mount? I'm not super experienced and don't have a lot of confidence in bracing the engine and removing a mount lol.

Thanks bro. This was everything I needed to do the job. 👍

I'm concerned about making sure it is the water pump but I think I'm just going to go ahead and buy one and try and get this done today... Have money for pressure test and parts I got to do one of the other and I think I'm going to do the parts and try and do it with my boyfriend today I see it dripping around that area

How's your transmission holding up with the tune? Mine seems to be doing pretty darn good. Waiting for hot weather to see how it does then. Just changed the motor mount on my 2016 at 81k miles. Night and day difference.
@MyTorino5 жыл бұрын
Jason Ashley it’s holding up well. I intend to change my motor mount as well. Which one did u use? Thanks for watching.

@@MyTorino I'm really glad to hear that about your transmission! We are lucky to have Tom around. I got my motor mount online from Ford Parts Giant. Model number starts with AV6Z I believe. Different model number than the one it came with. It's an updated part I believe. There are a couple you can buy but I think this one is slightly newer.
@jasonashley98535 жыл бұрын
AV6Z038A is the official part number.

Did you have to lift the engine up for access, or only remove the motor mount? Awesome video, by the way.

Lifted the motor. Thanks..

What engine is this? I have a 2013 1.6 ecoboost and It's pump is a lot more work!

Did you not have to drain the coolant out before you removed the water pump?
@MyTorino5 жыл бұрын
In this case I did not, since most of it had leaked out while it sat. The overflow was pretty much empty. But that is a good point. If the water had not leaked out, then you would have to drain it. Thanks for watching.

Question.. my Ford Focus 2013 is making a loud noise when I drive and my friend said that it might be the water pump? Do you know if that’s true? Or ?

why not spray the overflow bottle clamp with some WD-40 (or something similar), wait a few minutes, then just slide it off ??

Do you think water pump failure could cause water and oil to mix ? I don't think so but want to check . I've no mixed oil with water issue but want to verify this bogus claim..I think it's bogus.
@MyTorino2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the car/motor. There are some ford engines that if the water pump goes out, the water gets dumped into the oil..
@frankmontez68532 жыл бұрын
@@MyTorino anyways this came about from this mechanic giving me price for valve cover gasket replacement. Had to replace starter after only a year and a half. Oil was on pinion gear. Most likely seems that it ruined it. Was told that rear main seal needed to be replaced. Now not so sure. Might be from valve cover. Certainly have leak there. This other mechanic said you always want to start from the top. Have to fix that anyway.. Might do it myself. Have you done it on say 2016 Focus SE 2.0L Duratech engine? Seems easy ..
