I just did a diagnostic on an old 6.0 gm diesel and had to turn him away. Unfortunately he purchased a truck with bad issues and no one will touch it. All the diag work was effectively for not. I did take the time to explain to the customer the issues and why he can't find anyone willing to take on the project. He thanked me for explaining the issues in a way he could understand and at least felt like he had some place to finally start from. This jobs not always pretty! Lol

Yup, sometimes you get those jobs that won't make sense for both parties involved. Nice work making sense of it all for the customer 👍

Ok, now you have me wondering!! How bad could it have been, to just send him on his way! I once worked at a Precision Tune shop, and heard an upper instructor-mgr tell a tech to send a Northstar V8 packing!! Never understood that!! The more you do, the higher the pay!! That's probably why they put two of us in the pit, to do oil changes 10hrs a day!!
@Blackmage506 жыл бұрын
Well for me Im not setup to do much with diesels and told him that right up front. I felt bad for him with these other shops giving him bad information and one shop charging him to tune it and not actually doing it. It had a pump out, several injectors and some deep engine noises. It was completely covered in oil like most old diesels. Lol I think it was a 1996 and no one wanted that old of a project. I probably would have taken it on except Im just not setup for it or have the room. I called a buddy of mine that only does diesels and he said don't do it if you don't have the machine to time the pump. So I gave him the best diag I could and didn't even charge him for it. One shop charged him for a starter then it went bad a few weeks later and they wouldn't warranty it so he paid then again and it went bad. Judging how it looked like I'm guessing it was used. Can't say for the first one.

Enjoyed your video. I have a 2010 ford fusion 2.5L. It pulled a code of P0713 and it says Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor. What is the cost to have this issue resolved?
@jamesgregg405 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your being honest! Today my 2012 fusion check engine light came on, and I’m not sure what to do. I just had my oil changed on the 2nd of this month- now this!! I’m immediately started thinking they did something to my car when they did the oil change! I’ve never had any problems with this car until now, so I guess the thing to do is start with a diagnostic to find out what caused the light to come on. Thanks

When that light comes on, it'll set codes. What we need is to know what those codes are.

The traction light could mean you're slipping. The abs light could mean a wheel speed issue. Gonna have to pull codes and test

I just got my 2013 Ford Fusion inspected today and the Check Engine Light came on when I was nearly home. The light didn't come on since we got it in August of 2020. But, now, just after inspection, it comes on. Any idea why that would happen right after inspection? I can't seem to find any answers online. I am scheduled to bring the car into the dealership I bought it from (who did the inspection) to see what happened on Friday. Keeping fingers crossed that it was THEIR error. The light wasn't on until AFTER they inspected it. Any ideas?
@SuperMarioDiagnostics3 жыл бұрын
It may have been an error, or a coincidence. I'd see what code it is before coming to a conclusion.
@Axess-sv8nq3 жыл бұрын
@@SuperMarioDiagnostics Thank you for responding, man. I hope it's just an error. It's way too weird that the check engine light would come on AFTER an inspection. Before yesterday, I've had zero problems with the car. The car isn't acting any different either.
@SuperMarioDiagnostics3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but that happens. Cars wear out, parts wear out. No car will ever not have problems
@Axess-sv8nq3 жыл бұрын
@@SuperMarioDiagnostics Yeah, I know. Oh, BELIEVE ME, I know that well! haha! I just got this car in August of last year from the dealership as part of the 'Certified Ford Pre-Owned' group. So, hopefully, the coverage - and the Janus Protection Program we pay for - takes care of whatever costs may spring up. I've heard mixed things. So, the worry is creeping in. Especially because, around here, it's property tax time. We have the money set aside for that - and not for crap that's going to spring up in a car we just bought 9 months ago.
@SuperMarioDiagnostics3 жыл бұрын
Can't worry about what we don't know lol I know it may seem too coincidental that the light came on after an inspection, but that's happened to me and i knew for a fact it was natural causes. I've had fuel pumps go dead while in my care. You name it. But let's see what the code is first 😉

Hello, I own a 2014 Ford Escape 1.6 L- FWD, My engine failed due to being out of time. I order a used engine with 94000 miles on it, the engine was in working condition before being removed, I had it installed by a mechanic at a shop. However, within 1 minute of the car being started, there is a notification on the screen that read: High Engine Temperature Stop Safely. Upon scanning the following code came up P1299 Cylinder Head Over-temperature Protection Active. The coolant level sensor, the coolant temp sensor, and the Cylinder Head Over-temperature Protection sensor were replaced. The shop also reset the PCM however the issue is still there. The engine does not overheat while it is running from the data received on the tech computer. So far the tech at the shop told me the issue is electric and he will continue to work on it. My car does not have a remote start and is out of warranty. I would appreciate any opinions on resolving this issue.

Good try buddy! It's always tough when folks do not think that vehicle history is critical to the diagnosis and repair process. I guess the client didn't want you to install the fuel pressure sensor, huh? Oh well... Quick question: Is this motor's temperature regulation is done by solenoids (as opposed to a thermostat)? Always good to see your shares. -100
@SuperMarioDiagnostics6 жыл бұрын
That is exactly right, I need all the info BEFORE I get into the diagnosing! Shop decided not to step in at all. Great question, this particular engine has a thermostat, and two solenoids in its cooling system. It's not what it used to be, that's for sure! Thanks for watching!
