This video is the reason I bought my 2015 Hayabusa on June 1st. I'm coming off of my second ZX10R and this is the best decision I've ever made. I love it. Wonderful video, thank you for posting.

just realized I've never really run the bike in C mode at all.... didn't figure that it would reset the mode after turn off/on. SO, it's very gentle indeed... and you can handle it, if you're smart about it. I've been babying it because of the break in period anyhow.

I don't know if anyone has told you guy, but the hayabusa will automatically go back to "A mode" everytime it's turned off. Just saying because you mentioned you have it in C mode.

I have done 1200ks, or 750 miles on my new 2013 Busa, and am really enjoying it. I am 6ft 5inch tall, 210pounds, and find it surprisingly comfortable. I changed my helmet which reduced buffeting, and so far have not played with the suspension at all. I am happy with the way it handles, as it turns in very well, and go's where it is pointed. I may soften the rebound a fraction, but apart from that, I will leave it alone. I have done a couple of reasonably quick blasts along winding roads, and overall I am really happy with the results. I am still getting to grips with it, and know will only improve with time and miles on it. I have yet to do a long run of several hundred ks/miles on it, and wonder if comfort will be an issue? In saying that however, it's a big sports bike, not a cruiser, and I am 56 and not as supple as I used to be? Time will tell? As yet I haven't run it past 6000 rpm, but am interested to see how it performs at the top end of the rev range? As the open road speed limit here in New Zealand is 100kph/62mph, I will be doing highly illegal speeds in the upper rev range, so I will need to be very careful and watchful of the local constabulary. I like my licence. As for A, B, and C modes, I ran mine on C mode for the first day, new tyres and wet roads, but since then it has been in A mode. As these bikes are so torquey and easy to ride, I haven't felt the need to change it?

Nice comments! My only complaint with a long, mostly all day ride, was the saddle. It got a bit hard at the end of the day, so maybe a true sports touring saddle with gel or something would be better suited. But for everyday use, I love the Hayabusa.... esp. it being my first bike with a hydraulic clutch... saves the left wrist from exhaustion. What's also great about a big bike, is the fact that it doesn't panic when it's a hot day with a lot of stop and go traffic... ie, you can't hear the high pitched 600cc like fan come on and see the temp gauge rise, or worse digitally tell you it's over 215 degs (Fahrenheit).... . The 'busa has cooling fans, but the temperature needle remains squarely in the middle of the gauge... doesn't complain. I had no idea really what I was getting into when I bought the Hayabusa. But I've been very pleased with it. Love this bike a ton! So smooth, fun to ride, love the acceleration, and it doesn't do anything surprising, turns in great... just a solid machine all around.

I don't think you'll regret it. I prefer more of a sport bike position on a bike, and the 'Busa is more relaxed in that regard compared to my GSX-R600, but you'll still be leaning forward more of course than a cruiser. I had a Harley Sportster, as I think I mention in the video... the 'Busa can cruise fine and do casual slow rides. It can also haul ass, plus you get a great suspension and it handles great. Very smooth bike. I'm just about at 1000 miles now, and it's breaking well, getting better ever mile! Love it.

I plan for my next bike to be a busa, i like to cruise alot, but like the power when i want to be stupid once in a while...are they comfortable for long trips? im about 5'10" and dont feel comfortable on my gsxr 600 or 1000 at all on longer trips.
@hunterleebrown
@hunterleebrown 10 жыл бұрын
I have a 2011 GSX-R600 and the 'Busa is a lot more comfortable. Less lean forward, and the hydraulic clutch really saves your left hand muscles for extended traffic. For really long trips, (I've done about 160 miles in one day so far), I needed to stretch out my legs -- straightening them out from time to time at a stop sign, or at safe, slow speed. The 'Busa probably is the most comfortable of the sport bike riding position, but still, the pegs are high-ish like a sport bike. I'm fine with the forward lean, as I also do long distance road bicycle riding. I didn't find that I was resting on my palms that bad either on the 'Busa. Check out: cycle-ergo.com and dial in your height, etc. on a 'Busa and compare it to other bikes... I find it a very useful site.

I have now done close to 6000kms/4000 miles on my Busa, and have had the chance to explore it's potential more fully. I wonder how many miles you have done on yours Hunter Brown, and if you have begun to explore it's potential? I have had mine to 11000RPM, Redline, in second gear, and it was exhillerating to say the least? I have also been able to explore the way it handles, and I have to say that until now it has been rock steady and very predictable. I have read that changing lines mid corner isn;t easy, but I personally haven't found this to be the case? I have a great road on my doorstep, 118kms of hilly winding road, with a wide range of both fast and slow corners, broken up with straight bits that enable me to open her up a bit, and the best part is, the road is largely un policed? Heaven. It's due for it's 6000km service shortly, and the rear tyre needs replacing, but I will keep you updated on progress.

Rod Anderson I'm just over 2000 miles at this point.... use the bike for my short commute once or so a week, and then weekend casual riding, with the longest trip being about 105 miles or so... so not much at all. This coming April will be one year of ownership, but compared to my GSX-R, this 'busa I consider my main bike. I intend to sell the GSX-R as I don't like riding it as much. But that is a good question... no I haven't explored the full potential of the bike, but my latest video of it "More Hayabusa Impressions", you can see that I'm relaxed going high speed on the freeway with it now. I do need to find an un policed road around my home area too and try her out for more potentials... but I'm sure it has more than enough of what I need or want, and will continue to give me a shit eating happy grin. I feel safe and solid on the bike, unlike the GSX-R. You'd think the 'Busa would be worse, but the heaviness and easier handling keep you well planted.

this is why I want one. I hear they're great for sport touring n u can cruise at a fast speed no problem all the while being very comfortable. there's speed if you need it but you don't HAVE to go all hoodlum... people doing 130+ with wheelies n revving their engines wherever they go... that's just not my style. douchebags ride ALL kinds of bikes n it all depends on what you use it for n how you ride. hard break-ins produce better compression in the long run. running a bike gently allows carbon to build up on the top of the cylinder walls that will eventually cause all kinds of issues later on. I don't mean ride it like you stole it with 0 miles on it, but you do need to get the rpms high enough to be able to get the piston to travel all the way up. obviously the rings need to set and whatnot, to avoid more issues, but generally speaking you're better off breaking it in hard and changing the oil early.

I would recommend always riding faster than the traffic and as far away from the slow/merging lane as possible. For Christ's sake your on a busa. Let that bird fly. ***** Likely you are comfortable riding your Busa! "A "mode all the way! 4000-5000 rpm gets you great gas mileage but short of the power range that rocks your socks if you need it. The Busa really pulls hard at appx. 7500-8000 rpm to red line! Heli bars adds to comfort and the Yoshi pipes sound great! Add Power Commander 5 and add auto mapping electronic to auto tune for conditions in the Bay area! No production street bike compares with the Busa overall. Those faster bikes are that on a short run but so close who cares? In 6Th gear the Busa trots pass them and in comfort. Sport/Touring Busa rocks and in the long haul wins everytime! Busa is an easy riding motorcycle and faster than my GSXR 1000! I own both. Enjoy, Ride Fast!, Ride Safe.....
