fuses all seemed fine. so we did the negative terminal disconnect. hooked it back up and that’s all it took! so great to hear sound again.

Kia has to know this is an issue and are ignoring it because several people are complaining of the same issue. We should all file a class action against them. I personally will never buy Kia again since they choose not to address the issue.

how to fix this issues on all Kia models - have the car fully off -- first unhook the battery - then open fuse box inside the car - look for car amp fuse - take it out - if it still looks good - switch that fuse with another that uses same power rating-(so take the fuse for the amp and part it in other / ex. right side driver window or whatever with same power rating and the fuse from that part - use it for the amp) -- then - hook battery back up - then turn car on - test the two u took out - one the radio and the other ? whatever goes with the other fuse u switched around - anywho it should work - just had this issue in my 2014 Kia cadenza sxl today and I spent an hour trying to fix it - and this what works - sounds stupid but its a Kia lol and they all have issues so if u come across this issue - I hope this helps - ps. sorry on they way i text.

@@4RealMoves I just ordered another head unit for my 2012 Kia Soul + it'll be the 3rd unit put into it. Only have 103000 on it now. I've tried everything. Starting with this, and if it doesn't work I guess Ill try another amplifier. Starting with the least expensive items 1st.

I have a 2013 Kia Sorento! I don’t use the CD player in the radio or had not but put a CD in the radio and could not get it out! Finally did! In doing that the radio is drawing amps from the battery and draining it! Every three days battery is dead! I have pulled fuses changed the battery yet my problem still persists! Have come to the conclusion that the radio in these vehicles are bad and due to fail will be purchasing a new one! I would suggest taking it out looking to see maybe something is unplugged! If not purchase another! Hope this helps!

f it's the premium audio system (which the uvo is technically) there will be more than one radio fuse, try pulling every radio fuse out and plugging back in to see if it fixes it and also test each fuse for the radio and if needed, replace the fuse

I got a workaround on yesterday. Select the "SOUND" button then adjust either setting (Bass, Treble, or Mid). This should restore the sound. Unfortunately, you must adjust the setting each time you want to operate the radio. I hope this helps!

Tried that but it did not work. I don't want to play with the fuses so will have to either call my mechanic or Kia. For now, have downloaded the IHeart Radio app. Bluetooth it is!

I just bought a 2013 Kia Soul+, this has the premium sound with subwoofer. Sound was working, I drove the car home and the car wouldn’t start 2 days later - bad battery. The dealership replaced the battery at no charge, which they didn’t have to do since the car was “as-is/no warranty” but somehow in the process of them replacing the battery, they must have blown the amp. No sound since then. I didn’t think it was a big deal because I was putting an aftermarket stereo in, which I figured would fix the issue. It didn’t. Now I need to find an amp, looks to be about $200 for a used one. Ugh.

Instead we got a used one - TESTED THAT IT WORKED PRIOR TO REMOVING - and once we got it into my car, still no sound. WTF?! Working on replacing the external amp next...

Supposedly the UVO radios have a built in amp. Once they blow, you need to purchase a completely new radio. That’s what happened to our Kia Sorento. It’s either buy a $700 radio and what for that one to blow as well, or just buy a aftermarket radio. Either way, it’ll have to be replaced.

My 2013 Sorento. there is no audio sound coming from the radio or CD I did press the reset button didn't do a dam thing. I took it to the dealership and they told me an hour in that it wasn't working and I had to pay $125 just for their fucking asses to tell me that shit. Of course, it wasn’t working that is what I had told them I could have saved $125 to put tours my rent or light bill If that was the dam case, they said that it would cost me $700 for a new one or I could pay $400 something and they would send it to where ever to have it do a diagnosis on it. But my gut is telling me that if I would pay $400 something to them in doing that they are just going to come back and just tell me that they can't fix it, that I will have to pay $700 or $500 dollars more which it would be almost a thousand dollars I say to that get the fuck out of here. I am NOT paying that money when I just bought it in June 2019 from the dealership it only had 95000 miles on it when I bought it whoever bought made the KIA Sorento, really needs to stand behind his dam product shit is messed up. The dealership said that they is nothing they could do I will have to pay out of my pocket that is all they are willing to do is charge me a First car owner now I say that is bull shit... I like to know where the fuck where these cars were built in what country china for cheap labor what the fuck I have never heard of a car that has so much problem like I am fucking having, I pissted off about it, I really feel that KIA knew that their car is a piece of shit so they are making dealerships money and the dealers ships know the issues that people are having so they found a fucking loophole in the issue. They might have an idea of making a load of money in buy these KIA's and have people buy these cars and them knowing that they are garbage cars, this is how they make their money by having people keep coming back to get the car or SUV fix. By thinking and saying let's take their money for 5 years after their warranty run out and after that lets HAMMER them hard when something goes wrong in which they will that need to get fix... Fuck KIA cause I am Not ever Paying to get the audio fixed ever not out of my mother fucking pocket, I will drive around without it fucking working for 4 years and then trade that piece of shit in for a real AMERICAN SUV truck THAT IS BUILD HERE IN THE USA that will fucking work right. No matter if you get the radio fixed it's still going to need to keep getting fix, there is something that has to do with the truck, before it wasn’t working what so ever nothing turning on the radio, I called the dealership and I have spoken to one of the guys there and they said that to open and then close the truck gently and to shut off my SUV I did that and then everything had turned on. Trust me when I say it has a lot to do with the truck and the camera since its hooked up to the radio when you back up it does I think that there is a cross-wiring there, and the power of the car it’s not strong enough it has a lot to do with the voltage and the electricity from the battery and the wiring to where ever the amplifier is in the SUV to much high tech with little to low voltage the SUV can’t handle it that’s the problem.

One day I have my car battery replaced and then boom I have no audio and both front and back window motors went on the driver side.. I'll tell you this I will go to a car audio or to someone that will not charge me an arm and a leg

KIA Rio 2013 - Radio screen just completely dead this morning. Will try the negative battery terminal trick. Can't get the yellow fuse holder out to check the audio 20A fuse, nearly dislocated my thumb. Can't trace a reset pin opening either like some other models on KZbin have. KIA Dealer wants $100 just to look at it. Radio left warranty after 3yrs, even though warranty goes till 5yrs. Fckn bastards...

@@alperolcal I replaced the amp from an authorized KIA parts dealer. But it didn't fix the issue. At this point I was beyond frustrated with this all and was really sick of investing time into it, so I ended up replacing the front tweeters, front/rear door speakers and then rewiring those back to my after-market stereo. It took some serious time, but in the end I've got sound and all the speakers work except the center/dash speaker.

Same problem here (2013 Sorento). It's just a crappy, WindowsCE-based system that apparently fails after a few years. I got a quote for $600 from my dealership to replace the whole head unit. We are not going to spend that kind of money just for that junk to fail again in a few years, so we're shopping around. Found this site: www.carid.com/2013-kia-sorento-stereos/ Looks good. I guess this stereo is a 2-DIM (larger head unit), so look for that. The bonus of having a different stereo is we'll get navigation and be able to play movies on it (looking at Android-based models). Good luck! Once I get mine out, I may try to repair it, but I don't have a power supply to test it with.
