i have to admit ive never been an ES fan because its always looked like a camry with some chrome and wood, but lexus really nailed it with this one

Love the spindle grille on the new Lexus'. The new Lexus interiors are starting to grow on me more. My grandparents have a 2012 ES 350 & it's very nice & comfy to drive.

I love Tom and his reviews. Some of the best out there. He could replace most of the people that work at the big name review sites and car magazines easily.

Remember, when you're doing the math, factor in the DIFFERENCE in mpg between the 350 and 300h. It often takes an awful long time to make up the cost difference of the hybrid model.

Great review and editing as usual. Lexus has done a great job with this car too. The last generation was an abomination with cheaper wood trims, interior trims, and elimination of french stitching. Hopefully Toyota has learned its lesson.

When I sat in this car at the dealer last week, I noticed a HUGE downgrade in the quality of materials such as the console plastics, carpet and leather compared to my 2005 ES330. Even the 5th gen ES didn't live up to the interior quality of the 4th generation ES.

I'm considering to buy this new ES 350 next year - I'd be upgrading from '05 Camry XLE. I think the Hybrid would be a better choice because gas is not going to go down.

My grandmother just bought a new Lexus they has a 2007 es 350 with gray interior and the black/green exterior the new own is a 2013 es 350 that's dark grey and the interior is black. So far I like it!

LOL. Tacky chrome being the ultimate deciding factor in whether or not to buy a car that's worlds and above better than the 2010 ES. That makes perfect sense.

@saboobuu The new es350 is actually based on the next generation Avalon and not the Camry

I have actually been looking into it - the new Accord EX-L is almost a luxury car at 29k which is almost unbeatable. Instead of paying 25k down on a new Lexus I could have the Accord with little or no monthly payments...

@TheBjjones12 жыл бұрын
Looking forward to a re-fresh of the ES-350 in a few years as Lexus needs a new engine, 268 hp isn't going to cut it any longer in the entry level luxury sedan class. I also think Lexus should have taken a que from Toyota & followed the new Avalon's blueprint (sans that bass mouth grille) as it looks to be a more refined and luxurious car overall than the 2013 ES-350.

Well I own an 05 ES, my friend's got a 99 ES. When I tried the 2012 and 2013 ES, in my opinion the quality of the materials isn't as nice as those in the older generation. The console plastics are much cheaper and the leather doesn't have that quality texture. Are there any reviewers who compare the new car directly to previous generations to judge interior quality? These days interior quality in all cars are on the decline and the Lexus only stands out relative to other new cars out there.
@Erich214212 жыл бұрын
Forgot to mention that it uses the exact same engine of the Toyota Camry except this one requires premium gas, LEXUS!
@HaywoodHomestead5 жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t.. it takes regular. It also compares to the Avalon not the Camry
@fiddleabe11 жыл бұрын
can you elaborate on how to calculate that?

@peter300pete12 жыл бұрын
great job Tom, you are a very good reviewer. but a little less focus on the specs from the manual and little more from the driving experience would be good. And I never understand why 100% of reviewers expect all cars to drive like a sports car, no matter what it is!!!!!!! 0-60, acceleration, steering wheel feedback, ??? yes good to have 'em all but these are meabt to be luxury cars. tnx again.
@insidertrading112 жыл бұрын
This car is no longer based on Camry so nice try... It's now based on a new shared platform that spawns the new Avalon

and you forgot!!!! no electronic parking brake but manual,love lexus man but that is awful!!!!!,i went to the dealer to see if could get a good deal on one and guess what!! no standard leather trim seats which is standard on any luxury car,all the luxury options are divided in expensive packages this ES350 was a huge let down!!,even looks amazing though but is not worth my money better deal the IS250.
@EightiesBabyInc12 жыл бұрын
You're clearly full of shit because EVERY review I've seen of the new ES (from professionals to actual owners of the car who have been in the Lexus family for quite some time) have praised the interior quality of the new ES. Even if they bash the car on everything else, the interior is one thing reviewers have all positively agreed upon.

Does what all? What features does the Accord have that match the ES? The Accord is insanely overpriced. I configured an EX-L the other day. It came to over $41,000!!! I can get a mid-range ES very nicely equipped, for just a few hundred dollars more than the Accord. No fuckin' way a person would be stupid enough to go for the Accord.
