Ok for all of you with a 2014-2015 Silverado that have bought this kit, here is an update. I originally followed the video and used just one resistor per side. Result, hyper flash. I emailed the company and tried calling but no response. When I received the kit I received four LED bulbs and four resistors. I ended up wiring the resistors as pairs in parallel (creates 3 Ohm resistance). Just take the resistors and wire the top wires together and then the bottom wires together. Then take each pair of wires and solder (I did this) or clamp them together. One set on the black ground wire and one on the dark green wire. You will no longer have hyper flash. I sure wish the detailed instructions would have been in the box or at least the video updated. Good luck!

Great step x step video. I’ve watched other videos where, after they use the T-15 to remove the two screws, then when they go to pull back on the tail light housing itself with the two plastic parts(plugs to hold them in. They always seem to break at least one of them. I’m getting ready to upgrade just the white reverse light to LEDs but can you give me any advise on how to do it like you did without breaking either of those plastic plug like things? I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Thumbs up and I subscribed.

It's easy to think you broke them if you pull wrong direction. Pull directly back. Sometimes the entire "clip" will come out and looks like it's broken, but it's not. Happened to me few months ago (yet again, for the 3rd time in 6 months) replacing my tail lights. I thought I broke it, but all that happened was the entire inside/outside plastic "tabs" both came out together. You can either take them apart once the assembly is out, or just smack the whole assembly back where it belongs. They also sell said clip retainers at most auto parts stores. Think they're around $7 a piece? If you live in places where they put salt on the roads, you will think you've broken them, but you didn't.

Nice video. I noticed that the LED blinked prior to the installation of the resistor. You mentioned, if I recall correctly, that it was to prevent "hyper-blinking". What exactly is the difference (before and after)? In other words, what will the resistor accomplish (visually, compatibility with the electrical system, etc.)? Is there any indicator on the dash that shows a bulb out? Oh, and this obviously just for the blinking light I suppose (not the brake light). Thank you.

Without the resistor your flash will be double the speed inside and outside the vehicle. With the resistor it will blink just like it's OEM.

Question, on my 2016 I had to use 2 resistors for one side of the turn signals in the back because they still hyper flashed with just one resistor, did u have to do that too???

You only need resistors on the turn signal circuit, Do not connect resistors to your reverse lights!

I am trying to install LED turn signal bulbs on the rear of my 2016 Colorado. The turn signals flash the top and bottom bulbs on both sides. The top bulbs have Three wires like yours does but the bottom bulbs have 6 wires: 2 gray, 2 black, and 2 orange. How should I connect the resistor on the bottom turn signal?Also, how close, minimum, can the resistor be to plastic?

Sometimes manufacturers double up the wiring on one of the rear bulbs. Try to install one resistor per set of wires, The other set of wires will be going to your 2nd bulb. As long as your resistor isn’t touching plastic you’ll be fine.

Yes, each turn signal bulb that is swapped to an LED will need a resistor! So if you replace each turn signal with an LED (Four Bulbs), you will need to install Four Resistors (One resistor per LED bulb)

No. However. You do need a resistor for each turn signal bulb. Your lights have two bulbs per side and each need a resistor.

I changed all the bulbs with led on my audi Q7 4L. The turn signals work fine, the inner parking/break lights also..but the outer ones light up when i put the ignition on and then they turn off.. it also gives me the error in the dash. Where do i need to put this rezistor?

I plan on installing led tail light bulbs, front and rear side parking lights, and front turn signals. I have some led reverse bulbs (Canbus ready) on order. I already have led headlight bulbs installed last summer. Which bulb for red lens white or red?

You’ll want to run a red bulb in a red lens. A white bulb will make the light appear almost pink, Not recommended!

Graham Kaszas I changed my tail lights, (rear turn signal and brake) to LED with resistors. The left turn signal hyper flashed after 2 months. I replaced resistors, changed bulb positions, nothing improved.. Planned on replacing harness back to factory specs and bulbs, never again do I retro fit LED bulbs. I actually traded in the truck yesterday and bought a brand new Sierra with LED lights factory installed. Have a shop check out the issue with lights.

You will have 2 sets of resistors for both the Front and the Back, so 8 individual resistors total. They will be the 50w 6Ohm resistors, and you will not have any warnings on your dash. :)

Newer trucks like this Silverado will not hyper blink on the outside, only on the actual gauge on the inside of the truck. Wiring in a resistor will remove the pesty interior Hyper Flash. Good point!

Headlight Revolution, sorry to bother, but I installed the led tail lights bulbs but when testing for the resistor, it still quick-flashes. I spliced and tested the resistor both on the top and bottom turn signal wires. The resistance warms up, so it's working, but do I need 2 resistors per tail light? One in the bottom and one in the top turn signal? I tested that and worked fine after that test

The reverse lights are not typically monitored by the vehicle, like turn signals are. Because of that, most LED bulbs do not need a resistors for them to function correctly.

madmatt41187 yes I was looking to see if anyone was smart enough to do this.. screw messing with your wiring harness. Just put the stock flasher in the glove box for a backup.

2018 Silverado I put the LED bulbs in and of course they hyper flashed. Installed Sylvania resistors I bought at the auto parts store and no difference. They still hyper flashed. Wth

Why are you using the red color bulbs instead of the white since the lens is already red?

Julian Gallegos if you use white colored LED bulbs behind a red lens it ends up looking pink. The red LED bulbs make the red color even more vibrant and bright all while maintaining the correct color.

I was thinking about getting LED reverse light for my Silverado. I looked them up. $90 . Seems like an awful lot. Plus when you said 1000 lumens?? Straight from your website for the bulbs. Why would i want less lumens?? "A standard 55w halogen headlight produces as much as 1,200 Lumen of light, and these LED bulbs produce 1,000 Lumen of light per bulb! ".

Kenny play Thats right! These reverse light produce about as much as a factory headlight. I wouldnt want anything less after using these. Your original reverse light bulbs only produce about 200-300 lumen of light each, our bulbs are 1,000 lumen per bulb. That's a reverse light bulb almost as bright as a headlight bulb! No complaints here!
