If you recall my last look at Cadillac CUE, I came away less than impressed with the software. Thankfully GM has continued to tweak and update CUE and my latest week with the system was a marked improvement with no crashes and no issues with the touch buttons. Join me as I take an in-depth look at Cadillac CUE and the 12.3 inch Cadillac LCD Instrument cluster. This is the same gauge cluster you'll find in the Cadillac XTS and Cadillac CTS at the moment. The Cadillac ELR uses a different 7-inch LCD instrument cluster for 2015 and the SRX and ATS do not get the LCD disco-dash at this time.

Absolutely outstanding video. I'm 69 and wrestling with the XTS VSport vs. competitors; Consumer Reports hates the CUE system, but you clarified it beautifully and reassured me a lot. Now if they could just fix the @#&%$ headlight low beams so I can see the road in our "undulating" hilly area.

Which competitors are you looking at? If you're considering the V-Sport, unless you need the rear leg room I'd suggest giving the CTS V-Sport a closer look.

Thanks for the quick reply! Sorry if this is too long for a public comment. I/we just drove the CTS VSport as well, and have read the superlatives in reviews. There's no question that it's an incredible car, but my need/want is for one that feels very good on long drives (I travel a lot but hate flying). For me, the CTS was too stiff in both ride and seats, very small trunk for guitars & amps + suitcases (though the fold-down rear seat is good), too little front cabin storage, and unusable rear seat. 20 years ago and shorter trips, yes! Considering a tricked-out Audi A-6 or maybe a Q70. Equus and Kia K900 are thoughts. Can't afford a well-equipped E-class or Lexus 460 (have had a GS430; nice but poor seats). The only two things that go against the XTS are the dismal headlight coverage (vertical cutoff, which is a problem for all the other choices as well; it's terrible when driving through small hills) and the mediocre reliability ratings (Consumer Reports says the big things -- engine, transmission, electrical, etc. -- are fine, but still gives it a black circle for some reason). The XTS VSport is the immediate, seductive choice, but we haven't even looked at the A-6 yet. Love the tech, seat-vibration safety feedback, heads-up display, styling, ride, quiet, etc., etc. Price is doable at about $63K out the door (haven't yet tried to get it lower). Your comments about the other choices -- A-6, Q70, Equus, K900 -- would be much appreciated, if you have the time! BTW, I'm currently driving a 2011 MKS with Ecoboost turbo. It's been pretty good for the original cost, fast and comfortable on the road, but has a couple of design flaws and problems, so I don't really want another one. Many thanks!

William H Reid The K900 has to be one of the best cars I have driven lately. I had only about 2 hours in one so I haven't shot a video of it yet but it is very impressive. The ride is fairly compliant but a little firmer than the Equus. The biggest thing I got out of the K900 was the fact that I drove to the event in an LS 460 F-Sport and drove away from the event in a new Mercedes S550. While I really like the new S-Class, I came away asking myself why anyone would buy the LS over the K900.

Will check it out very soon. Any comment on the A-6 or Q70? Thanks again! (If you send me a mailing address I'll have our label mail you a CD for your trouble -- email reid(at)fewersorrowsmusic(dot)com.)

I'm going to give CUE a throughout whirl when I visit my local dealer. While I love the way the Lexus IS350 drives I'm far from a fan of the 'mouse' thing the IS350 uses for multimedia.

Great videos Alex. I love how detailed your videos are. I have a couple questions for you and I'd greatly appreciate if you can answer them. 1. How different is this CUE from the 2015 SRX? Are we expecting any changes or improvements to the SRX Cue in the immediate future that we know of? 2. No one on KZbin has really covered if Music streaming over Bluetooth from your iPhone carries over the metadata and album art to the CUE screen. Have you got a chance to test that? Thanks in advance.

For some reason I cannot recall about the Bluetooth exactly but I believe it does. CUE is essentially the same in all models of the same model year.

Hey Alex , My mom Has a question ... She has a beautiful 2015 SRX with The nav and everything. She wants to know how to store her favorites for bluetooth contacts so they are more easily accessible. Any help would be great!!! Thanks again

I believe that when you connect a compatible Bluetooth phone it should download the address book. You might try removing and re-pairing the device.

I have 2014 ATS with a very faulty CUE system. Delayed phone recognition and almost no voice recognition on the navigation. This is improved?????????????????????????????? No one wants to admit how poor it is.
