I am looking to buy the same converter. How has it held up? How does it feel during regular driving?

Feels stock - can't tell anyrhing different then the stock convertor. No issues - and would have no problem driving across the country.

so why i'm reading in ss forums that you need after market flex plate or you have to do machining to flex plate to let zl1 converter fit in? they said its 6 bolts and the ss/g8 are 3 bolts

Salem - nothing else is needed. I mean if you wanted to remove the flywheel and drill out the 3 remaining bolt holes - you could. At that point you might as well go with a TCI and ARP bolts.

Appreciate your videos. Great resource for my LSA research and build. Finally ready for the ZL1 converter, any tips on accessing the upper bell housing bolts. Service manual mentions lowering the cradle, what approach worked best for you? Thanks in advance and keep the videos coming.

I just undid the trans mount and reached them without issue. Put a jack under the trans and let it down slowly.

You can also take off the intake manifold and reach them from the top

They are actually from the Hot Rod Power Tour - you get a sticker every year you go - and that is what allows you into the event.

I did a Circle D 3000 stall on my CTS V and I have a plinking engine light but I still need a transmission tune do you think its because I need a tune ?

Hi mate, I have recently installed this converter in the same car. Under wide open throttle from 2nd to 3rd gear I get a big pop out the exhaust. The stock 6l80 never did it. Just wondering if you experienced the same thing?

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THE ENGINE ETC. :) IF I HAD THE MONEY I WOULD DO THE SAME THING YOU HAVE DONE :) PERFECT UPGRADE FOR THE EXTERNAL COOLER, ONLY BECAUSE YOU ALREADY HAVE THE FACTORY UNIT, BUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE, I WONDER HOW YOU GET AROUND THE INTERNAL RADIATOR HEAT EXCHANGER FOR THE TRANSMISSION COOLER, THINKING OF JUST MAKING SURE THERE'S an FITTINGS WHICH ALLOW TO CONNECT TO THE FACTORY TRANS LINES BEFORE THE RADIATOR AND ALSO A FLOW VALVE AS WELL. :) WHICH YOU CAN BUY SEPARATELY, AS WELL. :)

Matt it drives just like stock - you can't tell its there. That's the best part of this stall.

It got my best 60' to date. Down to a 1.6 or something like that. Otherwise day to day driving - like I said it drives like its stock and you won't notice it.

Why get this torque converter?

I couldn't brake torque the car at all with stock convertor. This is 500 or so RPM higher and allowed you to launch it.

Yes - all of the 6L80's are the same in the SS.

Yes it works fine.
