This car is already becoming iconic, so far as fleet cars, there proving popular and uber reliable, mpg is simply brilliant.

The ETG6 semi-automatic transmission is an self learning transmission. That's why it will take some time for it to adjust to your driving style (bad for testdrives), do NOT try to adjust your driving style, like lifting the gaspedal etc! One quick way to reset the learning-thing is to sprint from standstill (gears 1-3) with the pedal to the metal.
@ausfahrttv9 жыл бұрын
Sherukka Okay... - this is exactly what I did - shifting gears via lifting the gas pedal :)[Sarah]
@Sherukka9 жыл бұрын
Ausfahrt.tv That's what most people tell you to do, don't! :) I've found that the ETG works best with the diesel thanks to the torque advantage, would not choose one for the petrol engine unless we get one with a turbo.
@Sherukka9 жыл бұрын
Sherukka One more thing, if you buy one as second hand then have the dealer to reset the transmission learning-thing using Citroen software.

I loved this review so much I shared it with a friend in Texas: who said it reminded him of the movie "Inglorious Basterds"… she said it was like the English guy who gets caught with his dodgy accent… love this guy! I love the german humour ……. "no you can't put it on the roof and ski downhill, even if the rails look like you should" !!!!! hilarious .. Nice video!

HI, thanx for the video, due to the light weight of it, how it feels on the motor highway while you surpassing a larger vehicle? such as a lorry/truck. Is cactus shaking a lot or leaning to the other side of the lane if we have a speed about 100-120km/h?
@lazarstevanovic88879 жыл бұрын

Where is the parking mode? Does it switch automatically if the engine is shut down or is there none? And did you show the interior of the manual version? Other than that, I like the car interior, the exterior is a bit odd and I think the speaking is very fluid (I'm not a native speaker though)!

I was really curious about the 1.2 version, in a british review they said that it could get from 0-100 in 9 seconds, and now I'm confused. I'm used to driving a 1.0 2007 Clio, and I'm worried that since the Cactus is a lot bigger the 1.2 engine won't be enough, do any of you have any info about this?

Great review !!! Can you tell me little about automatic transmission. I prefer to use shift pedals for gear up/down, because that how I have control over the RPM. So - does using the shift pedals disable the fully automatic gear up/down, or the shift will go up/down in some point automatically, even if I don't use shift pedals
@ausfahrttv10 жыл бұрын
vinse81 Is this a general question about automatic transmissions or are u referring to the Cactus? Help me out, please, maybe I can help you then! .) [Sarah]
@vinse8110 жыл бұрын
Ausfahrt.tv It Is a question about automatic transmissions in Cactus specificly. My upper post maybe is a little misleading (because my native language is not english :)) I never drove a car with shift pedals (and, generally, I have little experience with automatic transmission) and I don't know how this type of transmission (in Cactus) work .

Hello Jan, like your relaxed, yet thoughtful review style. I have owned DS and ID (in Canada) back in the '60s-70s, so am very interested in the Cactus, as it seems to represent a paradigm shift in the way we perceive function of the car, as in Canada and elsewhere the SUV genre has a large market share. Have read through the posts, and may have missed something, however, here are my questions. 1) Is the semi-automatic something like my DS? 2) Are the doors all sheet metal with the airbump overlay, or is the metal cut out? 3) What is the min-max fuel consumption with typical engines - we use metric in Canada? BTW, just had a look at that BMWi13 - and people think the Cactus looks weird???

Was it easy to find a good driving position? I am your size and worried about not being able to pull the steering wheel closer. Great review btw. Liked the bit on the automatic especially because that´s what I'm going to pay extra attention to on my test drive next week.
@ausfahrttv9 жыл бұрын
Benny Kleykens I dont really remember exactly, but I do think, all the three of us had no problems finding a good driving position. Please let us know, what you think about the car after your test drive. I am always curious to hear what you guys out there think about the cars we have tested. [Jan]

Ausfahrt.tv Will let you know. I'm driving it next wednesday. The automatic version, normally, because I really want an automatic if only so I'd have more space on the front seats for my 2 Cocker Spaniels ;-)
@BennyKleykens9 жыл бұрын
Benny Kleykens Drove the C4 Cactus 1.6HDI ETG6 yesterday and would agree with just about everything that's being said in the various reviews. My wife and I both loved the car. And I could easily find a good driving position even though I'm 6 feet. I'll start with the bad here : the one thing I really feel needs more attention is the right C-pillar. It blocks the pilots view so completely that you really have to be aware of it in certain situations. It won't happen often but I had to join a street that was at the worst possible angle and couldn't see anything because of that C-pillar. Thankfully my wife was sitting next to me so she could help me. The automatic is only recommendable for people that take it slow and don't live in big cities where you simply can't adapt that kind of leisurly driving style all the time. In that case it will feel restrictive. It's also quite good for those that drive on highways most of the time. But a manual gearbox will be the better option for most, I feel. The center console was actually not as bad as I expected, it's not as fast as a turn or push on a knob but it's not aweful either and the parking camera was very handy (in fact, parking assist is definately necessary in this car). The seats were very comfy and I really don't see why some reviewers have issues with it. I loved them. It was also very good on the highway, not annoyingly noisy (something I feared) and the 92PK are plenty for this car in any situation. You do hear the engine constantly but it's not a problem. Talking of noise, the car I had only had 2 loudspeakers ... that's not enough, and they're not good quality either. I think there's an option to get speakers in the back but I would definately try to testdrive with that configuration to check what quality they produce. I was on the 17inch wheels and I think they are actually a good choice for frequent highway drivers. You sit pleasantly high compared to my C5 Tourer which is certainly something worth mentioning. You have a better overview of what's happening. Will I buy one? Probably not, because of the C-pillar, although I'm still torn.But I drive around in Brussels where you often feel like 2 eyes is not enough. Thing is, no matter how hard you try looking passed that C-pillar by moving your body and head, I couldn't. The right back headrest was also up which worsened the problem, I admit. So maybe if it were down and nobody were ever sitting there ... It's a real shame because other from that it comes with everything I need in a car at an acceptable price point.

the front is way too bulky, it looks almost comical even though I like the general look of it. besides the futuristic exteriour it seems really bland in like every category. not sure why I should spend over 20k for that trim level. There are better options on the market.
