The Focus is one of my favourite cars, its good looking, economical and it handles like a sports car, no matter which engine it has fitted, they all seem to be perfectly matched to the gearbox, making silky smooth gear changes look easy even for the worst drivers :-)
This 1.6 Diesel engine will power the car from 0 - 60 mph in 10.9 Seconds and continue to a top speed of 120 mph, the fuel economy is brilliant and under ideal conditions it is capable of returning up to 76.4 mpg ( I never got that many, but on a run regularly achieved late 50's which I was pleased with)

I had the 1.6 diesel in the previous focus model. I wouldn’t say it was sluggish but I did have a remap done which increased the bhp from 109 to 136. Can’t remember the figure for torque increase but it was noticeable. I would definitely buy this newer shape focus. I don’t care if people say they are boring, for me they have fresh styling and offer everything you need. I would probably buy the 2 litre diesel though.

No not really. It's quite sprightly actually. Plenty of power for everyday. It's a Peugeot engine really. They make the best diesels anyway. He really is right! With the gearbox and this 1.6 diesel, it really is everything you need. Had lots of experience with these. They really are great 👍 specially if you like driving. 🙂
