My neighbor drives a ford, I drive a gmc both are solid dependable trucks it's just a matter of personal preference. I personally like the looks of the new sierra, no giant grill, the squared wheel wells, and squared lines. I couldn't stand when automakers were making rounded lines everything looked like a bubble

To all my South Texas Friends... STAY AWAY from Ancira Dealers... They sold me a 2014 GMC Sierra SLE Texas edition Z71 with 8k miles on it but they didnt tell me the thing had been wrecked

Love the exterior on this one. Its so strong. And my only reason to buy it, is that I'm sick of people pumping into me while driving my Hyundai Sonata. I need something that'll scare people off and if they ever pump into me, its their car who's gonna get damaged..

you need to remember tucks are an ingrained part of north american culture. They were used for heavy duty work in a vast open areas. The sheer amount of raw goods in north America is staggering, from minerals to oil to farm crops, and pick up trucks play a huge part in moving people and things around. Another thing cities here,as i m sure you know are not designed the same as in Europe.More often than not it s highway systems and grid system planning for cities with large boulevards

Good review....love your videos. An interesting thing I noticed....AutoGuide's obeseved MPG in the 5.7V8 of the Tundra is 13 MPG. The obeserved MPG in the Sierra with the 6.2 is 17. I like the Tundra, but Toyota really needs to improve the gas mileage!! Having said that, if I were buying a truck today, I would have a hard choice between the Sierra and Tundra. I really like the looks of the Sierra. I also like the idea of Ram's new 3.0V6 diesel which some people are reporting mpg numbers anywhere from 24-28 mpg etc....but the overall look of the exterior of a Ram is ugly to me and I will wait to see the long term reliability of that 3.0 diesel

I love the look of this Sierra. If given a choice between the two, Chev vs Gmc I'd pick the Sierra just based on looks. Why it's priced higher than the Silverado is beyond me....

I have to agree great review. Liked the explanation on the rear diff ratio lots of people don't understand that stuff. I think they could have styled it more aggressive,it looks dated compared to Ram and wait till next year when the F150 is all new.

There are more days than that where I need a truck. Doing yardwork alone my wife and I use it at least twice a month. And I don't have to ask anyone for anything. Plus I enjoy helping out my sedan-driving friends when they need to move things. Our other car is a 39-mpg hatchback, and we carpool to work most days. If I were you, I'd stop presuming to know my situation just because I'm an American.

It look better in person. This is the only trucks I would take over the Tundra. Ram 1500 is still by far my favorite looking trucks but I see it break down all the time.

January 2016 is a ways off from now. I would recommend waiting until the models close to then come out. By then you will be able to choose from the Sierra denali, the sierra 1500, the 2015 silverado 1500, and the new f-150. But if you are going to buy one of the 2014 year models used, I would recommend test driving all of them and seeing which one you like the best. I'm more a Ford guy but to me this sierra definitely wins the battle with looks and the interior! However I do love the King Ranch F-150

Always been a GMC fan, recently picked up a 2014 SLT Z71 5.3L V8 fully loaded. I do adore the truck but there is something that bothers me, and it's the transmission shifting all the time and the small delay in response when you get on it. Now a tune will likely fix this, but i'm worried with the warranty going that route. Though i've read that the truck is in "learning" mode or something like that for a good 10,000km then it kind of lets loose. I'll be getting a tune down the road none the less. It's also to note less your cruising most of the time your not going to see those EPA numbers off the sticker. In town stock, i get 13-15, more along the lines of 13-14 average, and 18-20 highway. Add a level and Toyo MTs or another heavy aggressive tire your looking at 11-13 city and 17-18 highway most likely. I've seen worse. Saw one 2.5" with 295/55/20 toyo mts getting 14" over a 400mile trip over flat land :(. But then again if you want MPG you don't buy a truck.

The reason Chevy sells more is BC some reason, the GMC Sierras cost more than the Silverado even though their the built the same. The difference is looks, so why do Sierras cost more??? Good question? Should cost the same as a Silverado. I’ve had two uncles retire from GM after they’ve worked their for 35 years each. They know the difference and told me.

The main reason the Sierra is more expensive is because the luxury options it has. Such as the leather dash, seats, etc.

+TheJoe999Man My Silverado has all of that. They have the same frame even. So you're saying that the Silverados can't have leather seats? Or leather dashes? Or leather steering wheels? Interesting BC mine does. Mine also has heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel. Not a good try at all. Not a good comparison at all.

Phoenix Stamp Shell out the bucks huh? Interesting that you say that. See I actually did shell out the big bucks on my silverado bc, I didn’t buy mine off of any dealership lot probably like you did. Oh no. I custom built my silverado from the bottom up. My buddy bought a 2016 GMC Denali since I wouldn’t sell him my 2015 custom built silverado, and mine had more features than his does, can tow more than his can and much more. Mine is truly a one of a kind by custom building it. So I did in fact like you said,”shell out the bucks” for mine. Also I see more than,”a few” GMC Sierras on the road everyday, so I disagree with your just a few logic. Now the amount of people who have custom built trucks... That’s just a few. When I went into the dealership, I said that I’d like a silverado with specific features in it. I was told that, they have those features but in six different trucks. Then asked me if I ever thought of custom building one? I said, I have now. So I did. I’ve had two uncles retire as GM workers after both retiring after 35 years each. They explained everything to me. Just like a Cadillac. Same frame and looks, your just paying for the emblems. Look at the dash, shift know everything just fancier bc it’s a Caddy, but GM makes them.

Also you will want to upgrade the headlights to LED ya can't see crap with the stock headlights and GM knew this was an issue when they put these trucks on the road. Upgraded LED Lighting with capacitors to store some energy for the daylight running lights... The truck uses the same headlight for day runners but kick the power down a bit which makes ZERO sense but with the added capacitors they store enough energy to work for daytime use. Do not get me started on things that should be a lot better quality on such an expensive vehicle.

bought a 2014 3 month ago... one thing I don't like is .. THERE IS NO AC OR AIR VENTS IN THE BACK SEATS.. AND ALL THE HOT AIR FROM COOLING OF THE FRONT SEATS GOES TO THE PASSENGERS ON THE BACK.. NOT A GOOD IDEA IN A HOT DAY

I know what he's talking about. Its not the engine. Its the tuning. The throttle response is set for fuel economy and so is the transmission mapping. It feels like it has no torque and no power whats so ever. A simple tune can fix it, but honestly it feels slow as shit. When you get into the high RPM its pretty quick, but you can't feel the torque at all.

Well you see here in America we like to rely on our own merit to get things don and not rely soley on the government to provide for us. Therefore you need a truck to help do the work. When the work is done use it to play. You can't pull horses with a fiat 500 or a mini cooper.

We use a lot of 6 cylinder diesels as well though and they get both good emissions and high mpg (compared to their petrol equivalent). I understand what you mean though!

A 3.08 RAR??? Gees, you really have to think about these things before you let yourself become impressed with mileages ratings. They play with the gearing to get better MPG. How can you compare something like this to all other trucks on the market? Of course the GM trucks get better mileage. There are other trucks that only come with 4.30 rear axles! If you know how that works, it won't matter what your unladen MPG is because your truck will become dog once you load it up.

stay as far way from this truck as possible ! this truck is nothing but recalls. seat belt with no known fix. headlights that are what to dim to do any good. may factory defects that they will not fix. like break line bolts coming loose. the list goes on look for yourself. 16 pages or recalls or as they call them (to avoid the lemon law) service bulletin advisory. on my 2014 GMC double cab. i spend as much time on the phone trying to get parts as i do in the truck. this from someone that drives 75000 miles a year in a pick up.
