(2014) Longest NBC Nightly News Ending to Date

This is the new longest ending ever for NBC nightly news. As most of you know, they use the Mission theme composed by John Williams. This music is also used for the Today show. At the beginning of this video, you can tell the music playing is the end of the Today opening.

This is NOT the longest ending by NBC Nightly News, not by far. There are many KZbin videos of long endings nearly 2 minutes long, and it was when Tom Brokaw was at the helm.

Search youtube for NBC News Theme '88 or NBC NIGHTLY NEWS Long Close. In the 80s and 90s the ending credits on slow news days could run almost two minutes.

They used to run production credits during the deadroll, now you have to be dead to get a credit.

When I was there, partial and full credit rolls ran on a regular basis. Now there's long ariel shots of whatever 30 Rock is called these days. Devaluation of the staff.

Put not thy FAITH in TV personalities propped up as journalists. They are subject to ratings numbers for their jobs as any actor is. It was show biz when I was there and nothing has changed.

Yes I know in the past there have been but I can't think of any in the last 5 years. This long of an ending will likely never happen again in the future since NBC News will just add in another filler story (particularly on the weekends).
