Norman Finklestein goes from an analogy of when received his Ph.D in Political Science from Princeton University when he mowed the lawn for them, to present day events in Gaza and the reference Israeli uses of their recent action in Gaza as Mowing the Lawn. In this amazing 30 minute speech Norman Finklestein connects the dots of the many incidents in detail leading up to the present war that occurred between Israeli and the Palestrina’s in Gaza. No one is spared from President Obama to UN Ban Ki-moon or even allegorical references to the classic 1932 movie The Freaks.
Norman Finklestein is an American political scientist, activist, professor, and author. His primary fields of research are the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the politics of the Holocaust.
Other speeches were given by over half a dozen people including Princeton resident and Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Chris Hedges. Other speakers included Director of Education at New Brunswick Islamic Center, Shadee Elmasry who gave the opening speech; the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee’s media relations specialist, Amani Al-Khatahtbeh; Jewish Voice for Peace Board Member and past Chair, Rebecca Subar; local activist and recent college graduate, Sherif Ibrahim; and a local Palestinian-American teacher, Sireen Hashem, who recently returned from a summer trip to visit relatives in Palestine.

Any Israeli historian would destroy him in debate and will bring all lies out. And it will be very very easy. I don't have time to go over debate with you. Just talk with 20 different Israelis about what Dr.Norman Finkelstein say and ask their opinion.

American officers are very experienced in the fighting after Afghanistan and Iraq and they are very aware about war in an urban city. They all told they Israel has a very very high moral standard and American Army is way behind Israel. If you truly believe in what i am saying it is destroying all anti Israeli speakers that accuse Israel in war crimes. Any other army in the world instead of Israeli WOULD KILLED way more Pal then Israel. Just look at Syria war. Or Way in Yemen. Or Iraq and Afghanistan. You might look at Chechnya 2 wars. You will easily find that Israel Army is way more moral then other fighting armies in the world. The war in Gaza is a very complicated war in urban area where Hamas used civilians as a human shield every were: School, Hospitals, Masks. They sent missiles from a populated areas. Hamas stored missiles in a school. In every house were mines I also talked with a solders who fought in that war. In every palace woman , children and autistics with a souside belts. And solders were not allowed to shout them. Solders told me that Israel Army is the most scary army because it doesn't allow even to kill children and woman who came to explode on solders. Every house with a mines. Unlike me Norman Finkelstein didn't speak with a single Israeli solder. Other wise he wouldn't speak so much B.S 1200 1000 civilians infostracture in Lebanoon He brought statistics that in 2006 Lebanon war 1200 were killed with only 200 militants among them. He didn't tell that Hezbollah brought that statistics. The real number is 600- 700 militants dead. Hezbollah used houses of civilians for storage and firing missiles. Israel bombed those houses to prevent launching missiles to Israel and killed civilians who were used a human shield. In today Lebanon more ten 100 000 missiles stored in houses of regular people and estimates say that if Israel will want to destroy those houses 20 000 civilians will be killed . Norman Finkelstein didn't mention that Hezbollah started a war . And that is by UN resolution that blames Hezbollah for starting a war. 2008 war in Gasa 1400 killed 1200 civilians Wrong statistics which is provided by Palestinians. Around 1000 militants dead and around 400 civilians He told that no engagement in Gaza in that war. Lier. Go to Israel and speak with a solders who fought in that war. Level everything in Gaza Very small potion was leveled Hamas terrorist Organization ? European Union Canada and Usa say that Hamas is a terrorist organisation who's aim to destroy Israel. They also don't hide their goals. Just read Hamas web site. Benjamin Netanyahu Norman Finkelstein told that Hamas leadership has nothing to do with a kidnapping. One of the top Hamas leader who lived in Turkey i that time publicly admitted that he is responsible for kidnapping and killing kids. Israel found a guys who kidnapped kids and killed them. Those guys were from Hamas. Just speak with any Israeli who little bit follow news. Responses to Mr. Finkelstein's speech: "You cannot prevent projectile attacks through aerial bombardment." Of course you can, that is a ridiculous statement. There are videos showing rockets following the smoke trail caused by the rockets fired from Gaza. Even at night, the technology is sufficient to identify from where rockets are fired. "The security situation can only be stabilized if Hamas surrenders or is defeated." (16:30) Right now it is Sept 7 and there is a ceasefire, and I would say the security situation is 'stabilized'. Would you Mr Finkelstein not agree? Your presumptions about what Israel and Blair meant by 'stabilized' in that proposal are flat out wrong. "After 2 or 3 days it just came to out right terror assaults." (19:25) You start off with your argument about the bank of targets which is by my estimation false - how could Israel have a bank of targets when it is being assaulted by rockets fired from new locations every day? These sites are set up over night and are used to fire rockets. Rocket fire from Gaza happened for more than 2 or 3 days so by your own story line, you are illogical. Whether or not Israel was committing war crimes, it remains a fact that Hamas has also deliberately targeted civilians in the past. It is interesting that you only focus on Israel. Is that legal under international law? They do not need to knock on the roof of homeowners in Tel Aviv. They only have one goal - firing rockets at Israel. If there was no blockade, they would have killed more Israelis. Look at what happened when Islamic Jihad and Hamas had more power - deliberate suicide attacks - were those legal under international law? Packing a bomb onto a bus - does that advance freedom for anyone? Mr Finkelstein you do a disservice to those people who listen to your views by supporting Hamas. They also have failed policies. Hamas' record speaks for itself. What did their intifada achieve? Nothing except bloodshed.

Adnan Bosnjak made an excellent point above. However, beyond that I'd like to know why you feel someone who has family from the holocaust would be more inclined to dislike Israel? Wouldn't a sensitivity to that kind of thing make them MORE correct when saying Israel is acting too aggressively? What about people who DON'T have family who were in the holocaust? What's their disillusion towards the whole Israel-Gaza thing when speaking critically of Israel?
